Pelosi, Loser of the Year
So says Don Surber:
At the end of the year, the pacification of Iraq and the destruction of al-Qaeda in Iraq have come despite the House Speaker.
She came into office saying she was going to accomplish all these things in her first 100 hours.
She was sworn in on Jan. 4 and 100 hours later all the American people had to show for it was a hangover and a bill from all her partying at her “inauguration.”
…
But a month later not a single one of her bills became law, because she cut off Republicans and railroaded measures that were DOA when they hit the Senate.
A year later her accomplishments are:
The first female Speaker of the House.
The first female Speaker of the House.
The first female Speaker of the House.
The first female Speaker of the House.
And did I mention, she was the first female Speaker of the House.
Too right for words, Don.

I actually have a somewhat kinder view of Pelosi. I even feel a little bit sympathetic, having had to "lead" some severely conflicting and conflicted (albeit much smaller) coalitions myself. I predicted immediately after the 2006 elections that she would have some severe difficulty in herding the Democrats, and she has.
While laughing at that inevitable divided-coalition impotence, let’s at least give her credit for the minimum wage hike and the CAFE standards boost, and for not having the party fall apart under her.
In contrast to Tully, I have nothing but contempt for Ms. Pelosi and her Democratic colleagues in the US House of Representatives. Never in my 45 years have I seen a congressional majority act as impotently as this one has since the 2006 elections, and never has a lame-duck president received such meek acquiescence from Congress as Bush Jr. has. Pelosi’s timid, craven and subservient "leadership" makes her nothing more than a latter-day Quisling, and the fact that more Democrats, and Americans in general, do not revile her as such make me wonder just how awake the US electorate is.
That rag around Pelosi’s head when she kow-towed to terrorist dictator Assad says it all. This "Speaker" and her moronic counterpart in the US Senate from Nevada demonstrate that the Democrats are a “Disloyal Opposition.” General Petraeus should run for President in 2012—despite the fact he’s got a PhD from Princeton!!!
Uh- there are much better candidates for loser of the year than Pelosi, who, after all was able to get a good deal of legislation passed in the House, that was later stalled in the Senate. Try Larry Craig, Karl Rove or Alberto Gonzales.
And Laura Bush covers her head out of respect for Islamic custom when she visits Mideastern countries also.
Never in my 45 years have I seen a congressional majority act as impotently as this one has since the 2006 elections
LMAO. We must have different definitions of impotence. They’re able–they’re just not willing. "Frigid" would be a better description.
Sounds like the whine of the Fine Young Cannibals to me. Faction fails to exercise complete control of party agenda, whines that rest of party is despicable for not worshipping True Faith.
