Today Michigan will hold it’s primary. As American Power points out, it’s do or die day for former Governor of Massachusetts Mitt Romney. He came in second twice, now he needs a victory; especially because the MSM has been busily ignoring the results in Wyoming (where Romney won bigtime).
The latest polls show a very close race between John McCain and Romney. It could go either way. If McCain wins he’ll have created even more momentum, and Romney’s campaign will be on life support; if Romney wins we still have three, possibly four or five people who can win the nomination.
It’s interesting to see that, when campaigning in Michigan, Mike Huckabee and McCain suddenly reverse roles. McCain’s talking about America’s “Judeo-Christian” heritage, while Huckabee’s talking “bullets and bombs at an armored-vehicle plant.”
Although the latest polls show that McCain and Romney are virtually tied, it’s interesting to see that Romney leads McCain 2-1 among Republicans, and that the only reason that McCain is competing is that he’s supported by Independents and even Democrats. Without them, McCain would be nowhere in Michigan.
Someone should ask all the candidate about that once. What do they think of the fact that independents and Democrats will play a very important role in who becomes the Republican nominee.
It’s D-Day for Romney. Can he pull it off? We report, you… read.

Much was made of Gore and Edwards not winning their home states in the general elections. If Romney can’t win in NH or Michiagan in primaries isn’t that worse than these two. BTW McGovern and Kerry won the silver medals in their general elections. Brokered conventions have multiple "gold medal winners", not "silver medal winners".
