Edwards for AG

According to Robert Novak, John Edwards is staying in the race because Barack Obama has promised to make him Attorney General in an Obama administration. Edwards’ role, then, is to prevent Hillary from winning >50% of the delegates and to give his own delegates to Obama - he’ll play Kingmaker.

In case you’re wondering whether Edwards is ’stealing’ more votes from Clinton or Obama, Hot Air does some math: the math indicates that having Edwards in the race is, indeed, helping Obama.

On the one hand I think that most people despise tactics like this, on the other hand it’s all part of politics: if you want to win, you’ve got to play the game as well as you can. That means that Clinton should counter with a plan to stop Barack.

More interesting, perhaps, is the prospect of Edwards as AG. Will the US have a far-left Attorney General soon? If so, what does this tell us about Obama’s supposed ‘moderation’? Or is Obama’s moderation the kind of moderation we’re used to: moderation in style, not in deeds. Moderate as long as you’re liberal?

Well, I’d rather have John Edwards as President.  But if that cannot be, he would be an amazing Attorney General.  Assuming Obama actually did what he promises, it might swing votes to him.

I still don’t like EITHER Hillary or Obama, but as long as we don’t have a Republican, I can settle.  We have to protect the US Surpreme Court from any more right-wingers.

Novak, of course, is famous for his closeness to the Democratic party and its internal workings.  LOL

Novak is not the only who has pointed out that the longer Edwards stays in the race, the greater the chance becomes that he could become a ‘kingmaker’. If the race remains close, Edwards’ delegates would have the deciding vote. A lot of people think this is why he is sticking around. Obviously his run for the presidency is a lost cause..but he could end up with a huge amount of power.

And how exactly did Bob Novak, who is not welcome in Democratic circles gain access to this information?

I notice it wasn’t reported by a mainstream source, LOL
