In another thread I left the following comment: “As an aside, if it’s Obama – McCain, I wouldn’t know who I’d vote for if I were American. Possibly Obama, out of the idea that McCain is too old and knows little about the economy. How do you all think most Americans think about this?” What do you all think, does Obama have the upper hand among centrists and even people who are right-of-center when the choice is between him and McCain?

Not a pretty picture for McCain to take to the general election…

Well save some world-rocking revelation I would vote for Obama over McCain of course. Then again, I’m not "right of center" lol.
On a related note though, if it came down to Clinton vs. McCain, I might consider McCain. At first blush he appears to have some principles, and I might be able to take several contrary positions in exchange for some integrity.
Not to me, not by a longshot. In fact to me, the contrast between McCain’s experience and Obama’s inexperience, and between pragmatism and idealism, are striking and could be the key to winning against Obama (though I admit, Clinton tried to paint the same dichotomy and failed; my hope is that the GOP will study what happened and figure out how to correct her mistakes. I also think that in the general election, that dichotomy will prove more significant than in the Dem primaries because Dems are more likely to embrace youth even with inexperience.)
I would be terribly confused: I’ve never had an election where both candidates were good. I don’t know how to deal with an election that isn’t between the lesser of two evils. It might cause vertigo.
lol.
Interesting Michael, I think they’re both bad.
I just want to tell you the truth: There is going to be a stalemate, At first Americans will be divided between black and white, there will be threats of war, a president will be unjustifiably elected. An old person will not be good for young America. We have seen how their ideas and ideologies have ruined the country.
The spirit of war is the spirit of fear and the young want to get out of it.
