Bill Clinton, Global Warming Fool
This is exactly the sort of thing I’ve been fearing – and expecting – from the Democratic party – the foolish idea that western nations should throttle back on economic and technological development to fight the will-o’-the-wisp of climate change:
Former President Bill Clinton was in Denver, Colorado, stumping for his wife yesterday.
In a long, and interesting speech, he characterized what the U.S. and other industrialized nations need to do to combat global warming this way: “We just have to slow down our economy and cut back our greenhouse gas emissions ’cause we have to save the planet for our grandchildren.”
It’s my opinion that the exact opposite is true, that we need to accelerate our rate of progress regarding nuclear and fuel cell technology in order to produce cleaner power in the quantities we need to maintain our pace of life and development rather than shutting down our minds, computers, and businesses.

Hmmm, well, that actually sounds to me like Bill is asking his former VP to come in and endorse Hillary, or at least not endorse Obama. Gore’s endorsement would be a huge boost for Obama and in Clintons case make her pretty much inevitable.
I agree with your assessment Claudia. Also like you said Gore going to Obama would be huge as it would be someone who the left has rallied around the last 6 years or so and also someone who was a part of the Clinton group. Going to Clinton doesn’t help them as much because many assume that is who he will endorse so it’s more a preventative move.
Historicaly the only thing that has ever reduced pollution has been technolgical advance.
There is always this perception that you want to surround yourself with winners and not losers in politics. John Kerry, John Edwards, Al Gore, Ted Kennedy all supporting Barak Obama?
What do they have in common…….well of course they all failed in their run for the White House. It is a stigma that will be with them the rest of their political Lives.
If I was Barak Obama I would kindly ask them to keep silent till after the election. Yet the far left supporters of Barak Obama(and certainly I recognize that not every single supporter of Barak Obama is far left)all seem to rally around misery, defeat and loss to gain their strength. So endorsements by losers is just what the doctor ordered for Barak Obama. After all with the far left Misery loves company.
abrisaham, I’ve seen you rail against the "far left" so many times that it’s almost become your catchphrase, yet I’ve NEVER seen you say a peep about the "far right". You claim to be a democrat, but your comments read a lot more like a Republican, and not any old Republican either, since this and other blogs clearly show that many Republicans don’t personally dislike Obama nearly as much as you do, enough to start your own blog on the matter.
All this on top of the fact that when I’ve visited the far-left blogosphere, they’re cheering for Clinton. Why? Well because they are horrified by the way Obama talks about working WITH Republicans instead of crushing them and making necklaces with their bones. Clinton is much more to their liking in this respect, so I have to wonder where you’ve been hanging out.
Claudia: I think abrisaham definitely has an anti-Obama agenda, but beyond that I don’t see much point in looking for other motivations. Certainly it’s not uncommon for people within a certain party or ideology to rail even more forcefully against those within their own group that they consider unacceptable (look at right wing blogs talking about McCain!) than they would against someone they disliked on the opposing side. A lot of people feel that the wrong candidate representing their own party can do more harm to their cause than any candidate from the other side would (because it ruins the brand.)
Who better than politicians themselves to smell out a winner! One can make a very strong argument that that politicians are best placed to ferret out victory, when it is in the air. I think there is something going on right here in America, that is bigger than all of us. Something that makes a lot of us who are truly proud to be American, really proud, ‘fired up and ready to go!’
Claudia: I’m sorry, but that’s simply not true. The big far-left bloggers all root for Obama, because he was very liberal as Senator in Illinois.
He’s their darling, very clearly so.
Michael, I’ve been at AmericaBLOG, and though the bloggers themselves are making attempts to stay relatively neutral, the commenters tilt strongly to Hillary because they see her as more capable of "taking on" the Republicans. That’s not to say they wouldn’t support him, but they don’t like his talk of compromise.
Claudia: I’m not familiar with which leftie blogs are which, but my guess is that they would line up somewhat with the main Dem coalitions: the far left being one faction and then toward the center you have DLC and Blue Dogs. The Blue Dogs, although much more centrist on policy than Obama, would probably tend to favor him because temperamentally they’re like him- they’re moderates who want to forge bipartisan compromise. DLC was practically created by Bill Clinton, so of course they’d line up behind Hillary- and although Bill talked and somewhat walked the ‘third way’ and forged compromises, he still played hardball and Hillary seems likely to be more the hardball type.
I guess what I’m saying is that the far left seems to favor Obama on policy and part of the center left seem to like him for style; meanwhile other center left people are the ones you are probably seeing that cheer Hillary’s more combative approach.
Ah, that explains it. I’m talking about the real big lefty blogs: Daily Kos, Open Left, MyDD, HuffPo. They’re all for Obama.
Oh there is no doubt I have an anti Obama Agenda. I said so on my very first post here. I thought that was obvious.
I have also supported nearly everything I have said with cut and pasted facts or at least perceived facts from somewhere on the internet most notably from reliable places such as the Washington Post, CBS news, etc.
I do not hang out in far left or far right sites. I actually was a supporter of Barak Obama until he chose to actually run for president with no experience and on a platform that was deceitful and hurtful for the Democratic party.
I have answered your question before about why I do not rail against the right. This is the Democratic Primaries. This is family business. You aint seen nothing yet. Wait till the general election when it is Us vs. Them.
Until such time It is my goal and desire to see Hillary become the Democratic nominee of the Democratic party. Somehow that has become evil to actually support Hillary Clinton. I don’t think so.
So until I am told I can’t support Hillary and oppose Barak Obama at this site then I will continue to do that which I do. Support Hillary and try to make people understand what I believe to be a candidacy of deceit by Barak Obama thru posted facts, figures and opinion from respected sources and not FAR LEFT or FAR RIGHT smear sites.
PatHmv called me a loon for not supporting Abraham Lincoln here as the great Emancipator. Yet it is Barak Obama who supports the same conclusion I have reached.
I have also been called a loon here for one of my first posts addressed the apocalypse of the bible and the people reading it did not even grasp the sense of where I was coming from with such a post. See my posting of Barak Obama’s church today.
I have been called a loon because I dont happen to believe Abraham Lincoln is the greatest president of all time.
But you know what. I don’t care. I believe what I believe and I think what I think and I support what I support. Barak Obama and his supporters are showing extremely thin skins because everytime you say something detracting about Barak Obama or his supporters they become angry, defensive and strike out.
The Mark of the far left. It is always how they react to things when they dont get their way. They have always been to this party our toddlers. Those who when told no, stomp their feet and throw temper tantrums.
I rail against the far left because I believe in a world where it honestly takes moderation to get along they are the ones in my party who refuse to get along unless it is done their way. Barak Obama is just such an example.
The once Exalted Bill Clinton is now Trash to them because he is in the way of the Throne. That is why I rail against the far left while being a lefty myself.

Isn’t that the beauty of democracy… candidates share their opinion on issues and we the voters get to pick who we align with most. We are thankful for that. My only problem with the experience argument is that when you look at history and the people who have made presidents it really doesn’t matter who has what experience. In my own opinion, the only experience that matters is the one of having been a president before…and we all know that happens only at midterm elections with a sitting president. Being a spouse to an ex-president doesn’t qualify as experience. I too like Hilary a lot but I think fair is fair that Barack Obama seems to have what it takes to unite the nation once again. For me that is of paramount importance!

Yeah it is Tigere Wani. At last someone who gets the true democratic process.
In fact I like the way you put your support for Barak. Its the sound of a moderate supporting who he/she perceives as a moderate.
However all good things must come to an end. I have been threatened twice with banning for misconstrued intentions at this site. As I told Jason there will not be a third time.
Good luck to you and yours. If your candidate wins I will support him. However as with all things in life. I hope mine wins. lol
This isn’t what Clinton said. See my post.
Al Gore owns and is president of Generation Investment Management, his own carbon trading scam. Don’t take my word for it check it out for yourself.
