America hasn't been at war in Korea for 55 out of the last 58 years, yet we're still there, in some numbers. That's McCain's point.

FWIW - BJ has a graet post on the same subject. They included a bunch of photos of Republicans(all convicted of crimes) proudly wearing their pins.

And McCain wants us to be at war for 100 years. It won't be long until someone starts hinting that his time as a POW has messed with his sanity (as the Bush campaign did in 2000, via Karl Rove's minions). It'll be coming from all sides soon enough and it will all be despicable. This is the part of the campaign that things get really nasty -- it's all a warm-up for the REALLY nasty season which starts post-conventions.

Interesting, I just finishes watching Bill Maher a minute ago (I downloaded it) and was irritated with the lie, but it got mixed up with multiple other distortions and lies; Michelle Obama doesn't think the US is the "greatest country in the world" (as we know, a mortal sin), McCain is the only one that has done anything bipartisan while Obama has done nothing, Obama has forwarded no legislation, Obama "wants to hug Raul Castro" or "Wants to bomb Pakistan" and the use of the name "Barack Hussein Obama". He was a barrel of laughs throughout.

Very interestingly both Republicans viscously attacked Obama but utterly ignored Clinton. At the beginning of the race it was the contrary, but it looks like Obama has become threat nº1 in their minds. A bit premature, IMO, but interesting nonetheless.
