Spitzer Used Campaign Funds for Hookers?

March 14th, 2008 By: Michael van der Galien | Tags:

It seems that federal prosecutors are “investigating whether Gov. Eliot Spitzer used campaign funds in connection with his meetings with prostitutes, including payments for hotels or ground transportation.” Three people with knowledge of the investigation said to the New York Times.

Obviously, if Spitzer used campaign funds to pay for sex, well, his problems will get even worse. If this is the case, it becomes increasingly likely that Spitzer will face criminal charges.

Shakesville puts it quite well: “You know, the sad thing is, there’s probably a $25 donation from someone who didn’t really have it that was used to fund Client #9’s utter stupidity. Disgusting.”
