Prostitute A Prude? UPDATED

March 15th, 2008 By: Michael van der Galien | Tags:

The call-girl who became the downfall of Governor of New York Eliot Spitzer, Ashley Alexandra Dupre, doesn’t like it that newspapers and networks worldwide share the more sexy photos of her with the rest of the world. Her lawyer said that newspapers have published the photos without her consent and that doing so may have violated federal copyright laws.

Although Dupre’s lawyer didn’t say that he and his client would sue, say, the New York Times, he did say that she is not a public figure and that, as such, he would take “all steps that we deem necessary or appropriate to protect Ms. Dupre from any unwarranted exploitation of her name, picture, voice or likeness for purposes of profit.”

JammieWearingFool summarizes the story as follows:

OK, so just to make sure we don’t get sued by this whore, we won’t show any photos of the whore with this post.

Apparently though, this whore is enjoying all the attention she’s getting, the whore, as far as I know, is not turning down the money she’s getting from sales for that absurd song she’s selling, so what exactly is the problem?

She’s an attention-seeking whore, yet somehow now has a problem everyone is seeing her photos?

Perhaps Miss Dupre shouldn’t have been an escort girl if she didn’t want the world to see sexy pics of her. When you have sex with the mighty for money, you’ll be a public figure at the moment the world finds out what you did.

Of course, this isn’t about people seeing her scarcely dressed, it’s about her not getting paid for the photos. Well, when you put your pics on your myspace site, and you don’t let the world know that there’s a copyright on them, well, then you shouldn’t complain when others use it either.

Especially not when you’re trying to become a famous singer.

And especially not when you [explicit] with men for money.

UPDATE: my, my. It looks like Miss. Dupre is one greedy, you get the point. Since word came out that she’s the hooker who had sex with former Governor of New York Eliot Spitzer, she has earned approximately $200,000. How? you ask? Simple; people are massively downloading her songs from music website AmieStreet.com.

She’ll probably earn quite some more money; perhaps even a couple of million dollars. Especially if she accepts Hustler Magazine’s offer; Flynt offered her $1,000,000 (1 million USD) for a nude photo shoot.

In the Netherlands, we have a saying. “De één z’n dood is de ander z’n brood.”

It means: “the one person’s death, is the other person’s bread.”

Quite fitting.

I don’t think prudishness has anything to do with it. Seems that in addition to her body being a salable commodity, she wants to make sure that images of it are too.

think you are correct on that CS.  The more pics of her out there the less demand for a sell able product.
