Via The Instanbulian comes a great alternative to the headscarf or türban or, even worse, burka for women: an eye mask for men who aren’t able to control themselves if they see a woman who doesn’t cover her hair (and neck). As most will know, some fundamentalist Muslim men want their women to cover up – and other women as well for that matter – so they (men) won’t be tempted to commit a sin or even to think about sinning.
But if that’s the problem, wouldn’t it be easier and more logical for those men to do something, and not for women?

The text reads: “Hey Men; Your Decency Is Up To You (Not To Women). Wear An Eye Mask. Protect Yourself.”
Good stuff.

Not enough Michael, they need to have their brain transferred from a monkey so that they’d be more rational when it comes to how the other gender should dress so that they’d not be aroused. Personally, to their dissatisfaction, I feel tingling under my waist when I see a woman with turban than one with a short-skirt.
LOL, that is funny. Of course, there are other approaches that could be advocated as well- you know, like the OT sentiment of cutting off your hand or gouging out your eye if it causes you to sin. The eye here might be one organ that men may need to cut out, or perhaps another organ…
Kidding, of course. But I do think the point behind this is valid- modesty is an appropriate virtue for women, but it takes two, and men have to live up to their responsibilities as well.
