Boston Celtics Return to NBA Finals
The Boston Celtics – a legendary name – have beaten the Detroit Pistons in game six of the Eastern Conference Finals, resulting in them having a 4-2 lead in a best of 7 series. This means that Boston will, for the first time since 1987, appear in the NBA finals.
The leader of the Celtics is Kevin Garnett; a tremendously talented player. If they win the NBA finals he can truly be dubbed Larry Bird’s successor.
The opponent of the Celtics in the finals are the L.A. Lakers, led by Kobe Bryant.
Although the Celtics were, arguably, the best team during the regular season, they have lost some of their strength in the post-season / playoffs. The Lakers, on the other hand, seem to have become stronger in recent weeks; they beat the defending Champions, the San Antonio Spurs, in five games in the Western Conference finals.
