Hillary Clinton To Concede Tuesday Evening?
Tomorrow evening, Senator Hillary Clinton is expected to give a major speech in New York, her home-state. Many people, including yours truly, assumed upon hearing the news that it would be a concession speech since Barack Obama has a big delegate lead and continues to expand it. According to the Clinton campaign, however, it’s not.
What’s interesting about the denial is that it came at the same moment that Bill Clinton was caught saying that today could very well be his last day (in his life) campaigning for the presidency (for his wife this time). If his wife isn’t about to concede, then why would he stop campaigning?
The explanation: ‘Mr. Clinton, aides said, was referring to the end of the primary season — there are no remaining places for him to campaign for his wife — and did not attempt to foreshadow her departure.’
That certainly makes some sense, but if we also take this news into account (Clinton campaign laying off her advance people; Clinton staffers and advisers planning to go on vacation; them being urged to turn in any outstanding receipts; the news that Clinton and Obama will meet tomorrow to, hopefully, come to a ‘great decision’), it seems to me that it’s fairly safe to take the rumor, that she will concede, seriously.
It would make sense. She can’t win the nomination anymore, unless Obama’s image is completely destroyed, which would probably destroy the party in turn. No, this observer thinks that she’ll concede (soon).

P.S. At least I didn’t “blam” her. We have a strict policy against that.
We all need to be respectful to the beneficiaries of no child left behind. This child was left miles behind.Get accustomed to saying President Barrack Obama.
The fact is, both Clinton and Obama have benefited from the identity politics the Democratic Party has employed for the past 40 years. Both women and Blacks in the party have based much of their strength on the politics of victimhood, and affirmative action. Thus the claims by angry Clinton supporters that Hillary should be anointed because it is her turn; or the Obama supporters complaints that anyone against him is by definition a racist sound reasonable to the Democratic party hacks, but seem utterly out of tune to people outside the party. Neither of the Democratic front runners has ever really run on the basis of credible experience, though from all the ink spilled one might think these are really well seasoned candidates.
Experience? What experience? Obama’s single term in the Senate after a brief career as a community activist? Hillary Clinton’s being First Lady, and bungling health care reform followed by a brief senatorial career as a carpetbagger in New York State? The Democrats with actual experience in government, like Richardson got nowhere in the campaign. If the voter wants experienced leadership, the only candidate with a real track record is the presumptive Republican nominee, McCain. But, I don’t think this has ever been about actual experience. The Democrats have made it clear. This is about the worst sort of identity politics, those of race and gender. With any luck, the Democrats will continue their demolition derby through September. That might give the only really experienced candidate a serious chance to win.
