Barack Obama has proven to everyone that his speeches can convince everyone that experience may not be everything. Although, his argument on experience would never work for say, someone surgically operating on your heart or saving you in court; apparently, the argument does work for someone campaigning to control the most powerful nation in the world.

Most surprisingly, Barack Obama’s success was truly unexpected for many especially Hillary Clinton. He seems to be able to surprise everyone with his speeches and clever well-written rhetoric. His clever catch phrases seem to have appropriately understood exactly what this nation had been demanding for the past 6-7 years. His magnificent voice and emotional speeches seem to give hope to many. His ability to incite everyone to come out and vote who may have never voted before and to rally supporters from all over the political spectrum amuses many still today. The compliments and endorsements he received from so many actors, entertainers, and Democratic politicians, shows that he can be very convincing.

Barack Obama had become an idol of change but many have begun to say, an idol of changing his mind.

Barack Obama Flip Flop

Barack Obama has made many grand mistakes, some of them not so serious, but nonetheless, they add up and they’ve all been made in the past few years:

  1. Barack Obama said on live radio: “The point I was making was not that Grandmother harbors any racial animosity. She doesn’t. But she is a typical white person, who, if she sees somebody on the street that she doesn’t know, you know, there’s a reaction that’s been bred in our experiences that don’t go away and that sometimes come out in the wrong way, and that’s just the nature of race in our society.” (Source: USNews)
  2. Barack Obama said that he had visited “uhh, 57 states”. (Source: HotAir Video)
  3. Barack Obama lied about seeing a “black man who had tried to peel off his skin” on Life magazine which had allegedly mentally scarred him. (Source: Politico Barack Obama)
  4. Barack Obama “misspoke” about how is great uncle had liberated Auschwitz. The full quote: “I had a uncle who was one of the, who was part of the first American troops to go into Auschwitz and liberate the concentration camps, and the story in our family was is that when he came home, he just went up into the attic and he didn’t leave the house for six months, right.” His Great-Uncle had liberated Buchenwald a concentration camp, the Soviets liberated Auschwitz, but it seemed like a sleezy political statement targeted to affect his votes with Jewish-Americans and remind them of Auschwitz, a death camp. His campaign manager said that he meant to say Buchenwald, well if I was having memory problems about camp names, I would have either not said the name, or said something like “Bushonwal” or “bushawal” or “buken-something”, but this was a completely separate camp name, one must at least wonder the possibilities of a politician, being a politician. I also do not believe that his great uncle lived in an attic for six months, seems highly unlikely but that’s just my opinion. (Source: MSNBC)
  5. Barack Obama was later caught copying John Edward’s signature phrases in his speeches and plaigerizing off of his friend (but apparently, a “permission to plaigerize” exists outside Universities in the political world) (Source: Politico Barack Obama)
  6. He was caught directly lying to the public about the reasons for his birth in relation to Selma, Alabama (Source: Politico Barack Obama)
  7. Barack Obama was caught distorting facts and his sense of logic seems to have disappeared when he said “In case you missed it, this week, there was a tragedy in Kansas. Ten thousand people died — an entire town destroyed.” The actual death toll was only 12. (Source: Michelle Malkin)
  8. In Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Barack Obama exulted: “Thank you Sioux City…I said it wrong. I’ve been in Iowa for too long. I’m sorry.” (Source: Michelle Malkin)
  9. Barack Obama’s wrote a letter to the ANCA political committee stating that “As President, I will maintain our assistance to Armenia, which has been a reliable partner in the fight against terrorism and extremism” as a sign that he will continue to give American tax dollars to Armenia; a nation that only has good relations with Iran and still occupies more than 20% of Azerbaijan. (Source: Armenian Genocide Debate)
  10. Barack Obama had said in Kentucky: “Sen. Clinton, I think, is much better known, coming from a nearby state of Arkansas. So it’s not surprising that she would have an advantage in some of those states in the middle.” Even though, Illinois is much closer to Kentucky than Arkansas. (Source: NewsBusters)
  11. Barack Obama displayed his amazing knowledge of Afghanistan and geography, by claiming that the lack of translators in Afghanistan: “We only have a certain number of them and if they are all in Iraq, then it’s harder for us to use them in Afghanistan.” Barack Obama did not know that Afghani translators speak Pashto, Farsi, or other non-Arabic languages not Arabic or Kurdish like the Iraqi translators.  (Source: Michelle Malkin)
  12. To a Portland crowd, Barack Obama said Iran doesn’t “pose a serious threat to us”–cluelessly arguing that “tiny countries” with small defense budgets can’t do us harm– and then promptly flip-flopped the next day, claiming, “I’ve made it clear for years that the threat from Iran is grave.” (Source: Michelle Malkin)

Sure one can shrug off all these Barack Obama blunders by saying that he was tired or that “people make mistakes”, but then why do people jump up and down when John McCain makes a mistake (like McCain saying that Iran was supporting Al-Qaeda, which is probable but definitely not proven). Shouldn’t the same standards be applied to everyone?
The media has slowly began to realize that Barack Obama may not be the “chosen one” after all. They have realized the possibility that Barack Obama might just be another fishy politician just like George W. Bush. US News called Barack Obama a Serial Flip-Flopper:

McCain’s policy change makes sense given changed circumstances. Obama’s is based purely on greed. McCain opposed offshore oil drilling before but now says it should be pursued off the Florida coast. I don’t support his new position. America should be promoting alternative energy sources, not drilling for more oil. But given the run-up in oil prices, one can understand McCain’s change of heart.

What’s more troubling is Obama’s list of flip-flops is so limitless, he’s beginning to sound like he tailors his position to whichever audience he’s addressing at the moment. When he spoke to an AIPAC meeting a couple of weeks back, he said he supports Israeli control of Jerusalem. The next day, trying to placate angry Arab supporters, Obama said “negotiators” should work out the contentious Jerusalem issue.

The New York Post commented on Barack Obama’s Ever Changing Change:

• He [Obama] ripped Hillary Clinton for months for voting to list Iran’s Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization. Days after Clinton conceded, Obama flipped and said he supported the definition.

• Obama repeatedly vowed to meet with various heads of terror states—most notably Ahmadinejad of Iran—”without preconditions.” Then, with the nomination in sight, he zigzagged: “There’s no reason why we would necessarily meet with Ahmadinejad. He’s not the most powerful person in Iran.”

• In October, he supported NAFTA expansion. In March, campaigning in the Ohio primary, he called for a “reopening” of the trade pact’s terms. This week, he called his own primary rhetoric “overheated” and said NAFTA has had a positive effect on the US economy.

• Yesterday, after signaling opposition to nuclear power, he told Democratic governors he’s open to expanding it.”

So what are some very well known Political Flip-Flops (Voting Records and Broken Promises) of Barack Obama?

  1.  After promising that he would support Public Campaign financing and promising that he would meet with the Republican Candidate to accomplish this goal but then flip flopped when he realized that he would make much more money if he didn’t participate in Public Campaign Financing. (Source: New York Post ‘Barack Obama the Candidate of Change My Mind’)
  2. On the Senate Vote #181 of May 24, 2007 (HR 2206) which passed into law 80-14 of which Barack Obama as one of the 14 who voted No.  This was a bill about US troop readiness (funding for troops in Iraq), Veteran’s Care, Katrina Recovery, and Iraq Accountability. Even though he has continuously said that he was for Veteran Care, helping Katrina victims, and claimed that he had always supported the troops but just not the war in Iraq. (Source: GovTrack.us)
  3. In 2007, Barack Obama opposed a Foreign Intelligence and Surveillance Act bill which would protect telecommunication companies from lawsuits regarding eavesdropping of suspected terrorists. However in June 20, 2008 he said that he supports the new FISA bill because of “legitimate threats we face.” (HR 6304)
  4. When Barack Obama use to support gun control laws, he began to say now that “I have always believed that the Second Amendment protects the right of individuals to bear arms.”
  5. Barack Obama sided with conservative Supreme Court justices who opposed a ban on executing child rapists: “I have said repeatedly that I think that the death penalty should be applied in very narrow circumstances for the most egregious of crimes,” Obama said after the decision. But back in 1996, he had said that capital punishment “does little to deter crime.” (Source: New York Post)

If that wasn’t enough, many have caught on to this pattern of flip-flopping, and have begun to find serious flip-flops that would be career enders for most Republican candidates:

Do we continue to show Barack Obama tolerance, simply because he’s a Democrat and some of us support the Democratic Party and Democratic ideals? If you talk to any Politics professor or a graduate of Political Science, they will tell you that you should vote for the candidate not the party.

As much difficulty I have with Sen. Obama’s changes in position, and even though I’m a McCain supporter, this post feels like a McCain ad.

I guess since NY Times favored Obama PoliGazette favors McCain.

Really bad article.   ESPECIALLY about Obama VA voting record.  He has voted 95% of his times FAVORING VETERANS.

You also forgot to mention that MCCAIN has only a 27% Favorable record of Veterans SINCE 2001.

Considering that Barack Obama has voted 96% of the time with his party, and the only time he voted mostly against his party was
    HR 2206, May 24, 2007:

What was that bill? US troop readiness/body armor, Katrina Victims, Veteran’s care and Iraq accountability.

He was amongst the 14 who voted no, when 80 senators voted yes because they voted for something they believed was right.

Barack Obama was appeasing his lobbyists who can now pay him 100,000-200,000$ very frequently because Barack Obama DID NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE PUBLIC CAMPAIGN FINANCING.

Well I would say that if you’re still not convinced Barack Obama is a piece of crap, then I think you are in denial or with delusions.

Poligazette does not favor McCain exclusively, there are some pro-Obama articles.  Just like how the Washington Post or US News can have both Pro and Anti-Obama articles.

Of course, more Poligazette writers have become more anti-Obama because of Obama’s general lack of logical sense and his constant mistakes and flip-flops.
