Paul Krugman: More Fear Needed
‘The only way we’re going to get action, I’d suggest, is if those who stand in the way of action come to be perceived as not just wrong but immoral. Incidentally, that’s why I was disappointed with Barack Obama’s response to Mr. McCain’s energy posturing — that it was “the same old politics.” Mr. Obama was dismissive when he should have been outraged,’ writes Paul Krugman.
The main point of his latest column is that the ‘planet’ needs to be saved, and in order to safe it, progressives simply need to depict those who disagree with far left ’solutions’ as ‘immoral’ and bad. Additionally, progressive activists and ‘intellectuals’ should use more ‘fear’ to rally the masses.
Enlightened, isn’t it?
All in all, Krugman’s column is a perfect example of why conservatives should not let progressives dominate the global warming agenda. When they do, it will run completely out of hand, without insane ’solutions’ that destroy entire economies.

Why not do as Krugman suggests?
It’s the same way most political issues are dealt with.
"They’re evil for opposing my plans!"
True enough Tom.
And that’s exactly what’s wrong with this approach. Lord knows I oppose Obama’s plans, but I don’t think that he nor his supporters are evil.
I believe that welfare is counterproductive. but those who advocate it do what they think is in the best interest of the people. Not because they’re ‘evil.’
This evil-making has to stop.
Didn’t the Republicans do something similar in 2004? Nice try, Krugman, but they’re already being negative enough.
Exactly.
Krugman’s problem is he thinks the earth revolves around one thing: who the president is. I read this article last night about Krugman’s idiocies.
The intentions may be good but the results are evil, they lead to harm to many individuals, and this is repugnant to the constitution.
The only justification for government is to protect life liberty and property, if these misguided actions harm individuals, they are evil.
Also: Clinton invoked fear with the 3am ad earlier this year. Didn’t seem to work out so well for her in the end.
