CNN is reporting that two top contenders for Barack Obama’s Vice Presidential nomination, Joe Biden and Evan Bayh, are slated to speak on national security issues the Wednesday night of convention week.  This is the same night as the Vice Presidential candidate is to speak.

It certainly is tempting to think that either one of these men could be the VP short-short-short listers.  Then again, they might only be speaking before the eventual VP choice does.  After all, Obama supposedly has a huge campaign event going on in Virginia next Thursday.  Mark Warner or Tim Kaine, anyone?

Whenever either candidate plays the veep speculation game, the media laps it up.
