Increasingly more Gulf-state based investors groups and individuals are investing bigtime in the West. Especially European football clubs are a popular investment for these people. The latest business deal involves one major Abudabi entrepreneurs - and an entire investors group backing him up - taking over Machester City, one of Manchester’s professional football clubs.

As if the football investors aren’t enough, an Abu Dhabi group is also investing $1 billion in Hollywood movies. The funds are, interestingly enough, provided by the Abu Dhabi government.

Gulf investors are no longer satisfied with oil money. They want to invest in other businesses as well. As a result, they are taking over entire businesses in the West, and quite big and successful businesses at that.
