Netherlands Prime Target for Terrorists
Dutch Minister of Justice Hirsch Ballin informed the Dutch Parliament on Tuesday that the Netherlands is a prime target for Islamic terrorist networks.
The terror threat has risen significantly according to the minister. Nonetheless he sees no need to officially raise the terror threat (level), he said.
Hirsch Ballin considers Fitna, the movie produced by Dutch MP Geert Wilders, to be one of the major causes for the development. Jihadis, he explained, consider it a severe insult and provocation.
National Terrorism Coordinator Tjibbe Joustra added that Jihadists want to commit a terrorist attack in the Netherlands in order to improve the image of Jihad.
The threat level was raised right after Fitna to ’substantial’ already.
