Mosque Visitors Gassed

Muslims who went to their mosque in Dayton, United States, this last Friday were in for a horrible surprise when they were performing their ritual prayers: suddenly their throat started itching, everyone started coughing, and everyone’s eyes hurt. In the room where the little children were kept babies started crying and calling for their mother.

Someone - according to one eye witness two individuals - sprayed a guess in the mosque at the moment the Muslim congregration started to pray.

The Muslims of Dayton got together to celebrate the last 10 days of Ramadan and, especially, the day on which the Koran was sent to Islamic Prophet Muhammed (the night of the 27th day of the month Ramadan).

The gas was seemingly sprayed into the room where the children were playing while their parents were praying.

Islamic Society of Greater Dayton board member Tarek Sabagh explained that the attack may cause many Muslims to stay away from the mosque for the time being because they are afraid their safety cannot be guaranteed.

“I don’t know if people will have the feeling of trust to come back tomorrow or next week or next month,” Sabagh said. “I don’t know how people will feel.”

According to the Huffington Post, the attack came shortly after an organization started handing out copies of “Submission” to voters - the film produced by Theo van Gogh and Ayaan Hirsi Ali which, in the end, resulted in Van Gogh being murdered by a Moroccan Dutch Muslim, Mohammed B.

Whether or not Submission had anything to do with it, the attack on the Muslim community of Dayton is horrendous, and another sign that ‘Islamophobia’ is a very real problem, just like extremism is. These individuals were not hurting anyone, they were praying and celebrating.

Here’s hoping the thugs who did this get what’s coming to them. Especially heinous is to target the children of Muslims. That’s about as low as you can go. Sickening.

According to the Huffington Post, it was Obsession, and not Submission.

The DVD that has circulated is called "Obsession" It was shown on both CNN and Fox News arounjd 2005. You can find copies of it on Amazon. Several million were sent out in the mail and in newspapers to drum up support or fear in swing states that might go foir Obama over McCain. At this time, I have seen nothing suggesting that the DVD is tied to the attack but that may change as more info comes in.

Of course, no news agencies in America and no political pundits will refer to this incident as “a terrorist act”, because it happened to non-Christians, many of whom are likely not white.

If this same thing happened to a Fundamentalist Christian church, they would be screaming “terrorist attack” left and right, and the news would be all over it. It’s yet another example of the double standards that exist in America.
