SNL Pulls Sketch Critical of Democrats
SNL pulled the clip of a sketch critical of the ties between leading Democrats such as Nancy Pelosi and financial institutions Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. As the SNL skit rightfully made clear, the ties between Democrats and Fannie and Freddie were far more serious and prominent than those between Republicans and executives of said companies.
However, only two days later, it seems that Saturday Night Live has pulled the video of the sketch off its website.
As if that’s not enough, YouTube is also removing the clip constantly. Whenever someone posts it, it’s deleted immediately.
This leads to ask why this one particular clip is taken down constantly. Michelle Malkin believes, quite possibly so, that some of the people used in the sketch may have threatened to sue SNL. That’s one explanation, which could very well be true, of course, but it could also be that the producers of the show were told by someone higher up to get rid of the sketch.
Strangely, sketches critical of Republicans have not been pulled.
Another explanation I’ve seen is the graphic where the "Sanders" spoke saying "People who should be shot."
I actually found that odd when I saw it the first time. Sure they may be corrupt idiots, but "people who should be shot" in reference to actual people is highly provocative.
Something like this is usually covered under free speech laws, though I don’t know for TV if that’s allowed.
