OK – ODS is Real

October 15th, 2008 By: Michael van der Galien | Tags:

I’m always sceptical when people say that there is a specific Derangement Syndrome in the blogosphere, and in society, simply because some people have the tendency to use DS in virtually every situation in which a politician they support is criticized, but today I have to admit it’s real.

Why do I say so? Because quite some members of the so-called blogosphere linked to a story at African Press International. According to API they spoke to Michelle Obama on the phone yesterday. They published some remarks she made online.

Problem is, when you read the ‘interview,’ it’s perfectly clear it’s fake. There’s simply no reasonable person on earth who can believe that Obama would speak in the (sophomoric) manner attributed to her in the article. Nor is it even remotely likely that she would say the extreme things API attributed to her. Lastly, the chances of those remarks being correct are non-existent. Zero. Nada.

Only the most ODS obsessed individual could possibly accept the story as real.

Here are some fantastic quotes from the ‘interview’:

* “African press International is supposed to support Africans and African-American view. It is strange that API has chosen to support the racists against my husband. There is no shame in being adopted by a step father. All dirt has been thrown onto my husband’s face and yet he loves this country. My husband and I know that there is no law that will stop him from becoming the president, just because some American white racists are bringing up the issue of my husband’s adoption by His step father.”

* “The important thing here is where my husband’s heart is at the moment. I can tell the American people that My husband loves this country and his adoption never changed his love for this country. He was born in Hawaii, yes, and that gives him all the right to be an American citizen even though he was adopted by a foreigner; says Michelle Obama on telefon [sic] to API.”

* “Even if my husband was able to prove that he is not a Muslim, he will not be believed by those who have come out strongly to destroy his chances of being the next President. Do real people expect someone to deny a religion when 80 percent of his relatives are Muslims?”

Now, again, the above can only be taken serious if you believe two things:

1. That Obama is evil reincarnated

2. That Michelle Obama is the most stupid woman on earth

Note to quite some members of the conservative blogosphere: you’re scaring me. You’re going insane. Take a breather, take a break, come back two weeks later, when you’re less… insane.

LOL, I saw that too…plus I got some of those ’scary’ emails, one of which was from someone who is usually VERY rational who is beginning to wonder about some dubious smears on Obama (starting to wonder if they might be true, I mean.)

I even got one along the lines of whether Obama might be the antichrist!

Yes, definitely time for some folks to take a breather.

    Oh, brother.

I saw this story starting to circulate last night when began to pop up in comments sections of popular blogs. I was certain that it would be greeted with skepticism.

I guess we can look forward to more of this if Obama wins the election.

    It’s absolutely insane Bilby.

    And I’m an Obama critic.

I’m increasingly fearing that one year from now, I’ll find myself defending Obama more often than criticizing him, simply because of the extreme insanity of some members of the ‘blogosphere.’

I would be to hasty to declare Obama as “evil reincarated” and his wife as the most “stupid” woman on earth. Those are terrible things to say about anyone. Please call the following African phone number if you have any questions. The conversation came through Kenya and was recorded. I am a disgrunted Democrat who is just looking for some one to be honest, not sarcastic and derogatory.

Shocking development: Mrs Obama decides enough is enough: “My husband was born in Hawaii and adopted by his step father, does that make him unpatriotic; she asks”, on a direct telephone to API.

African Press International issues a phone number for verification:

    Verification of the story:
We have found it necessary to publish a telephone number that can be used to reach us should anyone doubt the story. We are doing this because of many requests by many people who want to know more about the story.
We are able to receive calls tomorrow the 16th of October through to the 18th October. We find it important that our readers get the truth and not be misled in any way. This is a true story and we stand by every one written.
NB: For verification, we can be reached on 004793299739″

Montana4truth, you’re just a disgruntled democrat who is looking for honesty? I didn’t know democrats hung around at:
Clinton Democrats for McCain (a PUMA site) where you promote “ObamaCrimes.com” a site dedicated to “exposing” Obama as foreign born.
    FreeRepublic.com
    StoptheACLU.com
    Stormfront.org (!!!!)

    Ahh yes, those democrat strongholds…..riiiight.

Claudia, other than the first comment (which had at least some substance), all other comments from Montana4truth have been spam promoting those other sites.  I wouldn’t waste your time responding and the spam comments are being deleted anyway.

Of course Michelle is the “stupidest woman in the world,” as you write. How else would she have married Barry? C’mon.
