I will say this - scrutinizing him on factoids and claims? Acceptable. Doing what wingnuts did to the FrostFamily? Not OK at all. The scrutiny must be on an average level. Wingnuts don't get to complain, but OTOH these people on the left shouldn't have followed suit!

Is there proof that the Obama campaign actually has anything to do with the breaches in acceptable conduct from these left-wing people.

Oh, and why isn't there a post at this blog about ACORN offices being attacked or Palin saying that there are Pro-American and non-Pro-American regions in the US? Seems a bit slanted.

Asked a question? That's all he did? he held a press conference where he said plenty of things. He can take the scrutiny. Drop the indignation.

I don't know what tax liens are - if they reflect poorly on someone then they reflect poorly on Joe and Obama's treasurer as well

Off topic, but since we ALL need to laugh, I'm wondering if everyone saw the Alfred E Smith dinner event last night. Both candidates did a GREAT job (though I don't think it's just my subjective impression that McCain was the one who really brought down the house- he's just better at this type of thing because he has good comic timing and is more comfortable in his skin.) Look at Hillary's reaction to the zingers that were aimed at her and bill. I also thought the media reactions were priceless- Brian Williams initially starts laughing and clapping at the jokes at MSNBC's expense, then seems to realize that the cameras are on him and he stops; Katie Couric looks stricken when McCain starts in on Acorn.)

Obama had some funny lines too though- it was truly a funny night overall and we need WAY more of this kind of stuff. Good medicine.

Here are youtubes for those who missed it ( think these cover the whole thing by both candidates):

and even if all these accusations are true, so what? that still doesn't change the legitimate question, and the "spreading the wealth around" answer Obama gave.

more left leaning spin on Joe... (Michelle is pointing out the spin)
http://michellemalkin.com/2008/10/16/is-joe-wurzelbacher-related-to-charles-keating-and-does-it-matter/

good quote:
"Obama dropped in on Wurzelbacher’s neighborhood, not vice versa. And there are plenty of “close relatives” in families who have nothing to do with each other, do not speak to each other, and stay away from each other’s politics and business.
But Team Obama will grasp at any straw to bring this guy down. I’ll have more on Joe The Plumber Derangement Syndrome (emphasis added by Jay_C) in my syndicated column tomorrow."

As much as it sickens me, Ttis may be a silver lining for the McCain campaign though, (not that I'm voting for McCain, but I know for sure I don't want Obama to win)
It may be that with this "Joe attack" may come a backlash.. and the polls are already tightening after the last debate.. plus with a natural tightneing that occurs in the last couple weeks. Don't they know better not to attack a "regular" Joe /jane citizen? That pushes other undecided Joe and Janes away.

Especially when many of the bloggers and blog commenters who now think that Joe the plumber's personal life should be subject to such scrutiny have been telling us for the last 6-12 months that Obama's character shouldn't be subject to scrutiny and that his political opponents who do so are just trying to deflect attention from their own candidate's position.

So what does the attention to Joe the Plumber's tax liens say about how confident they feel about Obama's tax policy plans?

This just sickens me… Really. The guy asked a question… and he is being beaten up for it by a campaign for president and the MSM… The line has been crossed in my opinion.
I agree with that. It sickens me as well.
