Registration Fraud enables Voter Fraud is the bottom line. Especially in states that do not require picture ID to vote. And while not conclusive, it does seem rather suspicious that the majority of the states that are having registration fraud issues, are those states that do not require id to vote. Taking a very simple example, Mary is registered to vote. She is such a supporter that she wants to vote more than once. Why not register her deceased mother and grandmother and aunt, etc.. With no voter id, there is no way to stop her from casting those additional ballots. In all honesty, there is no way to prevent Mary from registering and voting in multiple different counties, or even across the state line. As long as she puts in an appropriate address on the different registration form. Using Ohio as an example, some states do verify the registrations by comparing addresses and ssn through various databases, and if they are not a complete match, flagged as such. But then its left completely up to individual counties to do the verification and purge, which woefully, most counties are ill equiped to handle that job so most is swept under the rug. By submitting such massive numbers of fraudulent registrations, it makes the election board's job that much more difficult. Over 1.5 million fraudulent registrations is a huge problem. And thats just the ones that have been identified. If you really want to go deeper into why its a vote fraud issue, one could make the argument of corrupt vote counters. Your candidate needs a few hundred more votes? Well our voter role says that bob hasnt voted yet, im sure he and these other 2000 voters would have voted my way. Far fetched? Maybe for most, but to anyone who followed the Washington State gubernatorial election last round has to really ask, where did all those extra ballots that king county somehow found each time they did a recount. 20k extra ballots that just happened to be found after three recounts? Smells like a fish....(not to mention barney fife having a ballot cast in that election)

This is not Voter fraud, it is Registration Fraud. Voter Fraud only happens when it directly affects the election, and can therefore only be exerted at the polling place. At least that is the impression the Wikipedia article gave me. there are many forms of Voter fraud, and registering bogus people isn't one of them, because in most states, ID, and signature is required to get a ballot to vote on. But it still is wrong, it sucks and it needs to be prosecuted, if for no other reason than to reinstate the faith in the voting system i tht US and belief that our country is simply the BEST. Get out there and vote for your candidate people, and may the best ticket win.

I'm not sure, but I'm under the impression that under current law it is an arrestable offense. (I could be wrong though)

Can someone explain to me how falsley registering someone as a Republican helps you? Or as a Democrat for that matter. Supposedly you want to get votes for your guy, but simply registering is not enough.
Anyone care to explain to me how a false registration as a Republican turns itself into a false vote for a Republican?

Excellent point Marko! ..It's like...see our side does it too, so we are not just arresting those pushing to register democrats... And they would have a very valid point!

The arrest of a small republican outfit for voter fraud is a prelude to a larger arrest for ACORN bogus attempts to register false names in swing states.
