U.K. Economy Officially on Brink of Recession

October 24th, 2008 By: Michael van der Galien | Tags:

Official figures showed on Friday that the British economy shrank between July and September of this year. The figures confirmed earlier suspicions that the country is on a brink of recession.

The news instantly caused the British pound to take a dive. The US Dollar seemed strong in comparison.

The man in charge of and responsible for the downfall of the British economy is, of course, Gordon Brown, now Prime Minister, years before that the one responsible for the government’s budget and finances.

Economic output delined by 0.5% in aforementioned period, the Office for National Statistics said Friday.

It was for the first time since 1992 that the British economy retracted.

And the ones responsible: irresonsible labor leaders who encouraged the British people to borrow, and borrow, and borrow, and spend, and spend and spend, and who let the government spend as a drunken woman on a shopping spree with the credit card of her ex-husband.
