krillbait -- more like guns. Obama's intent is to destroy our standard of living for retribution for the past, to make us weaker in the world for quality, so he can continue to spur on discontent until he can win over the poeple for his goal of eradication of our constitution and our government. All his friends and mentors have stood for this proposition, and Obama has never seen himself as an independent thinker.

TIF Oabam wins, and I sadly believe he will, everyone's lifestyles will irreparably change. Many enjoy living meaningless drab lives, and they want others to as well. Obama will feed them with the hard work of many others who simply wanted something different, but will receive something that promotes epochal-sized destruction.

McCain, unfortunately. offers no antidote.

It's a shame most are being fooled this year. These issues were to be addressed decades ago. But the Dems and Republicans pushed it aside.

Which is why Ross Perot or some other independent should have been elected to office years ago. As it is now, the morons in the congress and senate vote along party lines for the most part, regardless of the issue(s). With an independent at the helm, it would force the morons to vote the issue or show their true ( self centered ) colors.

Term limits on the morons should be the next logical step.

Weighing the 2 candidates this go-around..... Obama will certainly drive the U.S.A. into the biggest hole since 1929. IF he gets elected.

He has absolutely no clue what he's doing.

A revolt is coming to the U.S.A. Pitchforks and torches.

This is ridiculous. JohnMcain.com has the EXACT SAME POLICY WRITTEN UP IN HIS ENERGY PLAN!

Coal is dying unless energy companies move to Clean Coal. The other option is Nuclear Energy. Both candidates will change the electric industry as we currently know it, as the costs for emissions will make it too expensive. You guys are a bunch of fear mongers who take everything he says out of context in order to incite fear & hate in this country. I will be so glad to see the Republicans out of office. This election is going to be the death of the neocon movement, possibly the Republican Party in whole if you guys can't drive the fear-monger neocons out.

Protecting Our Environment And Addressing Climate Change: A Sound Energy Strategy Must Include A Solid Environmental Foundation

John McCain Proposes A Cap-And-Trade System That Would Set Limits On Greenhouse Gas Emissions While Encouraging The Development Of Low-Cost Compliance Options. A climate cap-and-trade mechanism would set a limit on greenhouse gas emissions and allow entities to buy and sell rights to emit, similar to the successful acid rain trading program of the early 1990s. The key feature of this mechanism is that it allows the market to decide and encourage the lowest-cost compliance options.

How Does A Cap-And-Trade System Work? A cap-and-trade system harnesses human ingenuity in the pursuit of alternatives to carbon-based fuels. Market participants are allotted total permits equal to the cap on greenhouse gas emissions. If they can invent, improve, or acquire a way to reduce their emissions, they can sell their extra permits for cash. The profit motive will coordinate the efforts of venture capitalists, corporate planners, entrepreneurs, and environmentalists on the common motive of reducing emissions.

Greenhouse Gas Emission Targets And Timetables:

2012: Return Emissions To 2005 Levels (18 Percent Above 1990 Levels)
2020: Return Emissions To 1990 Levels (15 Percent Below 2005 Levels)
2030: 22 Percent Below 1990 Levels (34 Percent Below 2005 Levels)
2050: 60 Percent Below 1990 Levels (66 Percent Below 2005 Levels)

The Cap-And-Trade System Would Allow For The Gradual Reduction Of Emissions. The cap-and-trade system would encompass electric power, transportation fuels, commercial business, and industrial business - sectors responsible for just under 90 percent of all emissions. Small businesses would be exempt. Initially, participants would be allowed to either make their own GHG reductions or purchase "offsets" - financial instruments representing a reduction, avoidance, or sequestration of greenhouse gas emissions practiced by other activities, such as agriculture - to cover 100 percent of their required reductions. Offsets would only be available through a program dedicated to ensure that all offset GHG emission reductions are real, measured and verifiable. The fraction of GHG emission reductions permitted via offsets would decline over time.

Morrisey's comments about technological breakthroughs are what people really need to understand. We must press ahead with coal, nuclear, and other power research initiatives. More than that, we must succeed at developing them. It's a cultural imperative, owing the to unfortunate placement of the world's oil reserves.

Obama's plan to raise energy prices would be acceptable if it results in a moderate, stabilized price for energy that is sufficiently high that alternative energy development is encouraged without adversely impacting the economy. Question is, will that be Obama's motivation? Or will he allow the progressive nihilists to destroy the energy industry?

Barack Obama and Joe Biden will instruct DOE to enter into public private partnerships to develop 5 “first‐of‐a‐kind” commercial scale coal‐fired plants with carbon capture and sequestration.

Because reality ALWAYS bends to feel-good orders from pols. I don't know why they don't just instruct that magic unicorn to fart some carbon-free rainbow fuel for everyone! After all, they have MAGIC WANDS!

From www.barackobama.com/issues

Develop and Deploy Clean Coal Technology. Carbon capture and storage technologies hold
enormous potential to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions as we power our economy with
domestically produced and secure energy. As a U.S. Senator, Obama has worked tirelessly to
ensure that clean coal technology becomes commercialized. An Obama administration will
provide incentives to accelerate private sector investment in commercial scale zero‐carbon coal
facilities. In order to maximize the speed with which we advance this critical technology, Barack
Obama and Joe Biden will instruct DOE to enter into public private partnerships to develop 5
“first‐of‐a‐kind” commercial scale coal‐fired plants with carbon capture and sequestration.
• Safe and Secure Nuclear Energy. Nuclear power represents more than 70 percent of our noncarbon

This is really a non-starter. For one, we're seeing the usual smear tactic of taking these comments out of context to make them sound outrageous, then they were really part of a realistic discussion of energy policy. But more importantly, McCain also supports a cap and trade system.

The media never made anything of these comments because there's nothing here. Everyone knows that prices will rise under a cap and trade system, and both candidates support such a system as a necessary method of controlling greenhouse gases. The right wing blogosphere can scream into the wind all they want, but there's really no story here.

Anthropogenic global warming/climate change is a lie. Beer's Law, lab experiments and empirical data have proven that CO2 can't significantly heat the atmosphere. It's accepted that global avg. temps. rose only by ~0.7 degrees Celsius during the last century (Interestingly they fell by about the same amount in 2007 with the current global cooling trend). A slight atmospheric warming can't be the reason for Arctic sea ice melting. Most sea ice is below the sea surface, so it must be warmer oceans melting the ice, and since the atmosphere can't heat the oceans, the oceans must be warming naturally for reasons not understood. The main point is that CO2 can't heat the atmosphere significantly, and ANY plan to regulate/tax CO2 is asinine whether it comes from Obama or McCain. We've been lied to about CO2. CO2 will never catastrophically heat the atmosphere unless carbon emissions increase exponentially. Do the research and you'll see. It takes time and effort to discover the truth amidst the sea of propaganda that pervades the mass media. CO2 is an essential trace gas that makes life on Earth possible. It's not a deadly pollutant. CO2 comprises one-third of one percent of all greenhouse gases on Earth, and human contributions are a fraction of the total. CO2 absorbs about eight percent of the energy radiated back from the Earth, since CO2 only absorbs radiation in limited bandwidths. Once CO2 reaches a certain concentration in the atmosphere, it's impossible for further heating to occur, unless CO2 concentrations increase exponentially. Folks, wake up before Draconian CO2 regulation and taxation destroys what's left of this fragile economy. Democrats and Republicans are lying to us about CO2. Oppose any legislation that aims to regulate and tax carbon emissions.
