Osama Bin Laden’s Son Denied Asylum in Spain

November 6th, 2008 By: Michael van der Galien | Tags:

Earlier this week, Omar Osama Bin Laden, a son of infamous terrorist leader Osama Bin Laden, arrived in Spain where he requested asylum. His request came months after he tried to get a residence permit in the United Kingdom, which was denied because the British government believed him to be “loyal” to his father.

Today, the Spanish government also informed Omar Bin Laden that his request had been denied.

Omar Osama bin Laden lived and worked in Cairo and married a British woman last year. Since then, he has tried to get a resident permit in Western countries.

The Spanish government said the request had been denied because there was “insufficient evidence of danger or threat to [his] life.” This implies that Omar may have told Spanish authorities that some are out to end his life, which leads one to speculate whether he has had a fallout with his father and his terrorist organization.
