Osama Bin Laden’s Son Deported from Spain, Kicked out of Egypt

Omar Osama Bin Laden, a son of terrorist leader Osama Bin Laden, was deported by Spain this weekend, after he landed there on a trip from Morocco to Egypt and requested asylum.

The request came shortly after the British government denied him a resident permit saying Omar is still loyal to his father, who was responsible for thousands of deaths on 11 September 2001, and many more deaths in other, separate terrorist attacks.

Omar bin Laden left Madrid Saturday afternoon en route to Cairo.

When he arrived in Cairo, Omar Osama Bin Laden was pulled in for questioning, after which he was forced to leave Egypt as well. He is, at this moment, homeless.

Omar is somewhat of an oddity in his family, for he seems to prefer the West over the East and is married to a British woman, many years his elder.

The Spanish government denied the request saying Omar is safe in Egypt, where he and his wife live. However, now that the Egyptian government has kicked him out, quite likely out of anger with his asylum request in Spain arguing that he was not safe in Egypt because he is a pacifist, the situation changes dramatically.

According to sources, Omar Osama Bin Laden and his British wife are now on their way to Qater, which did offer the couple asylum recently.

Whatever the case, it is unlikely that Omar will suffer financially: his family is one of the richest in Saudi Arabia, and will not quickly cut anyone off. He will be able to continue living like a prince in Qatar, while the West will not have to deal with a son of the most infamous terrorist alive, with whom the son may still (secretly) be in contact.

The marriage is not likely to last; Omar’s British wife has been married five times previously (see here: http://www.shieldofachilles.net/2008/01/welcome-to-uk-future-home-of-bin-laden.html)

I am glad, and actually very surprised, that both Spain and the UK refused his asylum request. However, they plan to appeal it to the European Court of Human Rights.
