Award for Drama Queen of the Year: Washington Post

Part of my studies in communications was a writing intensive course that the professor heavily veered toward print journalism.  So I’m well aware of the creative license that goes into writing a feature story.  But this Washington Post article about Senator John McCain’s return to Washington takes the cake.  Talk about depressing.

By the time I was done reading it, it left me wanting to write McCain a “we’re with ya, kiddo” letter to him.  Of course, WaPo has now admitted their biases, so that may explain things.  The article did have a distinct “it’s the end of the political line for him” feel to it.

The term going through my head was “projection”. Was this how Sen. McCain felt or how the reporter felt?

My thoughts exactly, c3. Somehow I don’t picture McCain as someone who’d be prone to such self pity and melodrama.
