Shocking: Extremists Don’t Condemn Terrorism

November 29th, 2008 By: Michael van der Galien | Tags:

The conservative, anti-Jihadi blog The Jawa Report has a post up with reactions from Muslim extremists to the Mumbai bombings. The general message is clear: these extremists all do not condemn the attacks but, instead, pretend them to be the result of ‘injustice’ from the Indian and American government.

Although that is not exactly shocking in so far that this is what extremists think and do; that is why they are called extreme, a post such as this one could be valuable in so far that it informs readers about who the main extremist dangers (thinkers) are in the United States.

Sadly, that is not where TJR stops. As usual the blog cannot refrain from attacking Islam as a whole by writing, sarcastically: “Islam: Religion of Peace.”

This approach causes more damage than the owners of TJR probably think. Moderate Muslims such as myself stand with them when it comes to denouncing terrorism and the need to expose and fight extremists. But once again insulting our religion is not the best way to make us stand with you. In fact, it only causes such Muslims to turn their backs on you, ignore whatever it is you say, and deal with this problem as they see fit.

This while we need everyone who opposes extremism to unite.

    “NO Muslim should be trusted”?

Reminds me of people here in the US who couldn’t vote for Obama because “You can’t trust a black man.”

Michael as a “5th column”, some sort of spy for Al Qaeda or the like? That his “convictions” are the same as the jihadists?

“Delusional” is the best word I can think of here…

I’ve found similar reactions from members of the far-right before. They never learn.
