Oliver Stone: Chavez is Da Man!
Just when you think Hollywood may actually listen to conservative criticism, filmmaker Oliver Stone makes headlines by bragging about how wonderful and energetic Hugo Chavez is.
“The pure energy of the man is intoxicating,” Stone said about the socialist ruler of Venezuela. “The film’s about the spirit of the changes in South America. It’s to capture the spirit of this thing, which frankly is huge. … There is something going on here, and it’s outside the IMF, it’s outside American control—that’s what interests me.”
“This is what I like about Chavez: He’s a big man, he thinks big,” Stone added. He then continued to praise Chavez for being a “world-changer” who leads the region’s “liberation from the United States.”
No comment necessary I’d say.
