Obama’s Poll Numbers: Drop Them Like It’s Hot
President Barack Obama’s poll numbers dropped sharly in the last week. Where 71% of Americans approved of Obama one week ago, only 62% does so today. Although 62% is still acceptable for a new president, it shows that he will lose support quickly if he is seen as too liberal.
Especially Democratic plans to ’stimulate the economy’ are unpopular. Nancy Pelosi and her merry gang of big spenders wanted Republicans to agree to a deal that would spend tens of millions on contraceptions. How this stimulates the economy remains a mystery to everyone but them (they eventually decided to drop this part of the package).
When it comes to the economy, the most important issue according to 48% of American voters, Obama’s approval rating is down to 55%. This is again a significant drop in support.
Voters who rank national security, cultural issues and fiscal policy as their number one issue all strongly disapprove of Obama.
The longer Obama is in office, the fewer people will of the way he handles the job, especially if he plays ball with Pelosi and Harry Reid. He will try to enact liberal legislation which will cause increasingly more conservatives and moderates to turn their backs on him, demanding fiscal responsible behavior.
In the week after he was inaugurated Obama proved himself to be an ideological domestic liberal who’s looking forward to spend like never before. He told Republicans to stuff it, for he “won” the elections, they did not. This while he was elected on a platform of bipartisanship.
America is still a right-of-center country. Obama should but will likely not keep this in mind. His and the Democrats’ refusal to accept reality will cause blowback two and possibly even four years from now.
No matter how much the MSM worship Obama, Americans are moderate conservatives. They care about fiscal responsibility and have little tolerance for silly spending programs. Liberal journalists and commentators helped the man get elected, but they can do little for him now he has taken office. Americans can and will make up their own minds now – a development Obama, Pelosi and Reid should fear.
H/t to a reader for emailing the link to the gallup poll.

“Voters who rank national security”
I’d be interested to see if there’s any change in those numbers next week, after the Pakistan strike.
LOL The Rasmussen poll has been consistent since the election. This graphic shows Rasmussen showing Obamama’s support fairly stable and constant.

Pollster never shows Rasmussen with Obamama approval over 70%.
