Anti-Semitic Attacks on the Rise in Netherlands
Anti-Semitic attacks are on the rise throughout Europe. The Netherlands is no exception: the Haaretz reports that anti-Semitic attacks are on the rise here as well.
Three groups can be held responsible:
1. Far-left groups and individuals who hate Israel.
2. Neo-Nazis
3. Immigrants and their children
These three groups all have a major influence, but it’s the latter that rightfully receives most attention. I say rightfully because they are responsible for most attacks.
Many Moroccan and Arab immigrants already disliked Jews to start with, but they become more passionately anti-Jew at the moment Israel launches an offensive against Arab terrorist organizations.
The result:
A previous attack targeted the liberal synagogue in Haaksbergen, where assailants threw stones at the windows.
Another incident was an attempted arson against a Jewish institution in Arnhem, followed by the throwing of a Molotov cocktail at an Amsterdam Jewish-owned building. Aother Jewish-owned building was pelted with stones in Oss.
The Dutch government has to implement a zero-tolerance policy towards these individuals and groups. They do this because they think they’ll get away with it.
In addition to zero-tolerance, the government also has to kick off a program aimed at educating youngsters, especially immigrants about the history of anti-semitism in the world and its dangers. Send Jews to schools where they can communicate with students; let them educate them and show them that Jews too are human beings, with dreams, beliefs and moral values.
Jew-hatred is a cancer; it has to be removed immediately. You can try to cut it out, but you can also use chemotherapy… or both. Both is probably best.
