An instant hit

I did indeed appear on “de wereld draait door.” I enjoyed myself tremendously and, reliable sources told me, I did well. I succeeded in getting my main points across. The most important of which were that blogs are big in the US, that the Netherlands will follow suit and, lastly, that I am a phenomenon.

Seriously, Dutch journalists seem to find my story fascinating; most successful Dutch become well known in the Netherlands first, after which they hope to do the same in America. I chose a different path, however. I focused on America first, my own country followed later.

I hope that those who watched the show enjoyed it. Let’s conservatize this country!

reliable people told me, I did well.

Well, your Mom and Dad might be a little biased, though.

Just kidding of course- congratulations on the increased exposure. Making it on your home turf is sometimes the hardest of all.

    Hi Michael,

Indeed I saw you on the show. You do have a fascinating story, but funny enough it’s very American (or at least non-Dutch) to boast about your achievements in a post like this. And why do you date your post on the 10th, while it’s still the 9th of February? In the States it must be even earlier now…
    Just curious.

Well, this was all new to me…but very interesting. I will be following you on both sites, like the way you explained that you look from the outside to america. Again interesting!!

Maaike; I apologize – regular readers understand my sense of humor better than those who visit this site for the first time. The first commenter, Christine Stanley, picked up on my “reliable sources” quite good, for instance – she reads this site regularly.

Posts: that’s the wordpress system; it’s one hour later. I’d like to change it but the system screws up when I do – so it’s OK like this.

Marjolein; that’s good to hear. Hope to see you often at both places.

Dude, I wonder how you can focus on the US while sitting safe at home writing blogs on US sites. Everyday hard working people lose their jobs and are only interested in one thing, get the economy back up and earn money to support their families. You should do what Friesian are known for, stop the BS and roll up your sleeves and get to work instead of criticizing everything. I wonder why you live in Friesland – “let’s conservative this country”, you should live in Nunspeet ! Your conservatism brought the US into this mess and the worst thing is you don’t even realize. You sound the same as the ex president, I’m sure his last words before leaving the White House were “I enjoyed myself tremendously and, reliable sources told me, I did well. I succeeded in getting my main points across”. And yes, I did watch DWDD but didn’t enjoy your interview – I did however very much enjoy the interview with another Friesian, Sven Kramer, he does have the right Friesian spirit !

Because we all know that writing isn’t work, right? That setting up websites isn’t work either. See those ads, you think they have something to do with the economy?

It always fascinates me that radical progressives think that the only ‘jobs’ are those in the factory.

O, and by the way – I’m almost working 100 hours a week. Writing, studying, and part time job. It’s seldom wise to comment on a person without knowing anything about him.

No no, Michael. Radical progressives think that the only “jobs” are on the government payroll. We exist only to serve the state, after all.

True enough tully. Better yet, it is ok to write as long as you’re progressive
