Obama warns African Americans for Tough Times

March 1st, 2009 By: Michael van der Galien | Tags:

President (of doom) Barack Obama warns African Americans to prepare for “tough times.” He told (self appointed) leaders of the African American community in Los Angeles saturday that “tough times for America often mean tougher times for African Americans. This recession has been no exception.”

He told them that the government would do everything in its power to help out but we know that government cannot and will not succeed alone. It will take all of us stepping up and doing our part. It will take the commitment of parents and teachers and community leaders. It will take a renewed faith in our common purpose and common values.”

Interestingly enough, African Americans received more handouts in recent years (nay, decennia) than any other (ethnic) group. Despite this fact, or perhaps because of it, African Americans are the poorest ethnic group in the States, have the highest (college and high school) drop out rates, are many blacks addicted to drugs, are they the largest ethnic group living in America’s prisons, and is the average African American family a single mom with children while the father(s) is out doing his ‘thing.’

Perhaps African Americans are better off with less government ‘help.’ After all, the ‘help’ has destroyed the African American family, resulted in many African Americans being unemployed, dropping out of school, and, basically, spending their lives in the same kind of poverty they were born in, often even making matters worse. Instead, the government should finally promote individual responsibility in the African American community: they have equality of opportunity, all they need is to seize it and be the best they can be. They will never do so, however, if the government tells them they can’t and shouldn’t, and keeps them dependent on government handouts.

Also interesting is that Obama told these leaders that he has done more in the past 30 days to promote a progressive agenda than other presidents in history combined. This is a fascinating remark because it proves once more that the goal of the stimulus bill wasn’t to stimulate the economy but to push through progressive reforms liberals dreamt about implementing for years already. The economic crisis was simply a convenient excuse.

I read an interesting article yesterday about “Gullible Gulls” . Another article had quoted it from the Reader’s Digest quite a few years back, and the idea was that an entire flock of seagulls had no idea how to fish, because for generations they’d been eating from shrimp nets. And when the shrimping boats left, they starved. I’m curious to see whether that story is true. But it seem the idea applies well to our current situation, be it an ethnic group or an industry… we have to stop relying on someone else to take care of our needs :-/

Blacks have not only to stand on their feet, but also to reciprocate the prejudice being meted out to them via governmental and social policies. One way to do it would be to boycott government obligations and organizing peaceful revolts whenever necessary to protest institutional racism. Education is definitely a way out, being wary and alert of their society and protesting at every front whenever there is mistreatment and deprivation is also a prime concern for the African American community. Indeed it is a sad society for them to live in.

Good points, Michael. Bill Cosby’s book, Listen People should be required reading for a lot of self-styled progressives. They won’t like it, but your points are similar to his: Black problems are largely self-inflicted, not the fault of institutional racism, as anonymous states. If there is such a thing as institutional racism in this country, it is largely acting against white males. Just ask the Duke 2006 Lacrosse team.

Yes, Michael, I agree. the so called stimulus plan was just a political ploy to pass a huge spoils package for the Democratic party faithful.
