Obama can’t get enough of his war on journalists

It’s utterly insane, but President Barack Obama and his aides seem to be overly fond of attacking journalists, columnists and pundits. They first went after Rush Limbaugh and Rick Santelli, their favorite enemy is now Jim Cramer who had the audacity to criticize Obama’s economic plans which are slowly but surely destroying the stock markets.

Like Santelli and Limbaugh Cramer isn’t going to take it lying down:

Now some, including Rush Limbaugh, would say I am on another enemies list: that of the White House. Limbaugh says there are only a handful of us on it, and if I am on it for defending all of the shareholders out there, then I am in good company. Limbaugh — whom I do not know personally, but having been in radio myself, know professionally as a genius of the medium — says, “They’re going to shut Cramer up pretty soon, too, but he’ll go down with a fight.”… Limbaugh’s dead right. I am a fight-not-flight guy, so I was on my hackles when I heard White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs’ answer to a question about my pointed criticism of the president on multiple venues, including the Today Show.

As said, this is utterly insane. Obama ran on a platform of bipartisanship, he promised to reach out to Republicans and critics and to work with them to find solutions for America’s most pressing problems. He would change the culture in Washington and the tone of the political debate.

He has already proved the above to be lies. He’s not changing anything, at least, not for the better. Obama has quickly transformed into the second coming of Richard M. Nixon – enemy lists included.

I think we’re seeing the results of his decision to appoint Rahm Emanuel as his chief of staff. Emanuel is a streetfighter, he’s a man who doesn’t take prisoners. You criticize Emanuel or those he works for and he goes after you with more aggression than a pitbull.

It has to be said, of course, that going after pundits like this isn’t wise. Emanuel and Obama come across as amateurs. You can’t go after specific pundits and journalists constantly and expect them to treat you press kindly. Infuriate the press corps and they’ll go after you.

Amateur hour has arrived, and it ain’t pretty.

There’s something odd about claiming two journalists/TV personalities don’t have “credibility” and the evidence is a TV comedian. Hmmmm….
