Douthat moves to New York Times
Good news for those of us who greatly enjoy reading Ross Douthat’s blog at the Atlantic: earlier today, he confirmed reports he will succeed Bill Kristol, the neoconservative columnist at the New York Times.
Although I defended Kristol a couple of times, his critics were quite right when they stated he was, quite simply, not a good columnist. He didn’t always fact check, and his style of writing wasn’t always very appealing, at least not to me.
Douthat, however, is one of the finest conservative members of the blogosphere. He’s a great writer and thinker.

I agree 100%. Routhat is also a young voice without ties to the parties power structure. Like Larison, he’ll criticize his own party when needed.
Kristol was just a cheerleader padding his own bank account.
