Dutch government subsidizes childporn website

Dutch journalist Alberto Stegeman of the SBS network discovered last week that the Dutch government is subsidizing a ‘help-website’ for pedophiles. The ‘help’ consists out of advise on how to hide childporn on your computer from authorities.
We already knew that the Dutch government enjoys throwing tax payers’ money away, but subsidizing websites for pedophiles goes too far, even for our Christian and Social Democrats. Or so you’d think.
It’s great that undercover journalists like Stegeman do their research, but the government itself should police sites and organizations it subsidizes. Subsidies aren’t free. Normal Dutchmen work hard every day. only to see a gigantic percentage of their salary being stolen by a center-left government that believes that the ideal society is one in which the top are pulled down and success is punished, even ridiculed.
There was a time when a Minister was held responsible for this kind of subsidy. He was interrogated by parliament, and eventually often forced to step down. Responsibility has become a dirty word in Dutch politics, however, meaning that the responsible minister will likely remain in office despite the fact that he is responsible for subsidizing people who promote illegal activities.
