Palin and Congressional Republicans go to war

If Governor Sarah Palin wants to be a serious contender for the Republican presidential nomination in 2012, she will have to create a vast national network of grassroots. She has to create grassroots organizations everywhere, brush up her image, and court Republican politicians so that they throw their weight behind her during a national campaign.
Palin is aware of the above, or so you’d think. Think again:
Sarah Palin is out and Newt Gingrich is in.
Congressional Republicans decided Tuesday to ditch the former GOP vice presidential nominee in favor of the former House speaker for the critical House-Senate fundraising dinner in June 8 in Washington. It’s the marquee Republican event to raise money for GOP House and Senate candidates…
“She was a disaster,” one Republican source told FOX News…
National Republican Congressional Committee spokesman Ken Spain said the GOP “decided to go in another direction.”
“Speaker Gingrich is a leader,” Spain added.
Never anger members of Congress. They often have a tremendous regional organization, and are to make or break politicians with national aspirations. Where Republican senators are often criticized by the conservative base, House Republicans are generally considered to be ‘defenders of conservatism.’ You anger them at your own peril.
Palin is still young and the election of 2012 is years away. Still, she has to be smart about everything she does. Making enemies needlessly is not the way to go.

Unfortunately, it was the senate and house republicans who jumped the gun due to a misunderstanding between them and SarahPAC and the governor herself. Alaska law requires that SarahPAC and the governor’s office remain totally separate, so crossed wires do occur. The republicans should have known that she is not going to address partisan matters during the legislative session. Once Gov. Palin realized there was crossed communications she notified the congressional republicans that she would have to wait until after the legislative session is over to let them know whether or not she could attend. The session is over on April 19th. It seems to me that they could have at least waited that long. They could have gone ahead making the arrangements, sending out the invitations and just say the the keynote speaker slot was not firmed up, but would be on or after Apr 19th. Simple, but instead these jerks backstabbed her through nameless sources, once again. Given their treatment of her, it is not any real wonder that Palin hasn’t shown any real enthusiasm for them. I have sent back 3 RNC fundraising letters telling them that all my donations are going to SarahPAC, and I sent an email to Steele this morning saying the same thing, and further stating that I thought the GOP/RNC’s treatment of Palin is graceful.
Yeah and sad to say it seems that not only is the GOP racist but they are sexist as well. You finally get a female member of national fame and they seem to be doing everything they can to help the Democrats go after her.
The GOP is a mess right now. There is no doubt about that. Thats what power breeds. Right now there is a power vaccuum in the GOP and people are killing each other to fill that slot with their own selves or their own version of themselves.
And Palin should help these Congressional douchebags why? Aren’t they the same idiots who spent like drunken sailors when they were in power, and refused to defend Governor Palin against Democratic smears. Screw them, my money is going to SarahPAC. Let’s see how much money Newt raises.
