Link Mess

From now on, PoliGazette will publish a daily link mess. What’s a link mess? Well, you find the answer below.
Robert Stacey McCain, one of the best conservative members of the blogosphere, published a video of Chuck Schumer saying that “traditional values” have ceased to exist. McCain disagrees, do you?
Glenn Beck really doesn’t like Obama. Heck, he even hates the guy. Hot Air has a video up of Beck’s latest attack: “Glenn Beck Screams at Obama: why don’t you just set us on fire?” Two points have to be made: 1. he didn’t scream. 2. I think that pouring gasoline over every single American is a bit too expensive. Even for Obama.
Hillary Clinton is having a great time laughing at the crew who got attacked by Somali pirates recently, or so Sister Toldjah reports. Whatever you think of her, at least this proves she has a sense of humor. And that’s definitely news.
Tensions between India and Pakistan are rising again, Newshoggers reports. It’s almost as if the two are quarreling brothers. Oh, wait.
The Moderate Voice published an interesting op-ed from Michael Reagan (yeah, Ronald Reagan’s son) about President Barack Obama’s trip to Europe. Read it.
Bloomberg has good news for those who believe that the Obama administration has no idea what it’s doing and lying to the public: ‘The U.S. Federal Reserve has told Goldman Sachs Group Inc., Citigroup Inc. and other banks to keep mum on the results of “stress tests” that will gauge their ability to weather the recession, people familiar with the matter said.’
Arianna Huffington responds to the ongoing debate about the recent announcement from Associated Press, saying the organization will make it harder for bloggers to use the organization’s news items (for free). Arianna’s message is simple, yet convincing: “It’s the consumer, stupid.”
For some reason, the woman who sold Vice President Joe Biden his German sherpherd isn’t happy. The ‘reason’? PETA and other animal rights-extremists have insulted, threatened, and stalked her. That’s animal love in action right there.
Speaking of radicals: Jules Crittenden defends the Pet Shop Boys. They’re under attack by… PETA. Because of their name. And stuff. I’m suddenly inclined to rename PoliGazette “Pet Shop Gazette.” Lets see how they’d like that.
Good news for online media organizations such as PoliGazette: increasingly more people cite the Internet as their primary source of news. Especially those under 30 have now turned to the Internet for their daily dose of news and commentary: 60% say they get most of their national and international news online. Those older than 30 also rely increasingly on the Internet: 40% say they rely mostly on the internet for news.
The above is less good news for old companies such as newspapers. And they and those working for them know it. The Atlantic organized a poll, asking famous journalists and columnists whether they think the Internet helped journalism or hurt it. The rather predictable result: 65% says it has hurt journalism. Nonsense, of course, but it’s logical for them; narcisists often equate their own well being with that of their profession.
The CEI has thought of a new way to combat piracy: encourage private, Western privates to take action, Taylor Marsh reports. I’m actually unsure what to think about this. It worked several centuries ago, didn’t it?
Karl Rove don’t like Joe Biden no mo’. Mac Ranger has more.
QandO has an interesting write-up up about health care reform and the free market. It’s a must-read. So what are you still doing here? Head on over to QandO and let them know what you think about the piece.
Chemical firms worry about the First Lady’s organic garden. Or so the Hill reports. If that sounds boring, it’s because, well, it is.
Blue Crab Boulevard blasts Obama for downtalking America in Europe… and getting nothing back for it. I’m in complete agreement: his apology-tour was over-the-top, and proved politically useless. Well, not entirely useless, actually. He showed Europe he’s not a strong leader. We can walk all over him.
