Lou Dobbs slams Keith Olbermann
It’s about time. Lou Dobbs on Keith Olbermann: “He’s got such a hard time adjusting his medication, he has no idea what he’s doing. He’s a left-wing hack!… What happened to moderation, to credibility?”

As I said, it’s about time someone ‘respectable’ goes after Olbermann with a vengeance. Olbermann has not been attacked even remotely often enough by pundits and journalists. Left-wing bloggers, centrists, right-wing bloggers, and journalists all go after Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck recently. Even though they are no worse, perhaps even better, than Olbermann and his ilk (Al Franken anyone?).

Lou Dobbs going after Mr. Olbermann? Mr Dobbs would be at a great disadvantage, like an unarmed man in a battle of wits, Lou Dobbs could not argue his way out of a paper bag. His seemingly perverse obsession with illegal immigration has him spouting off discredited and erroneous facts, that are the hallmark of the type of right-wing punditry that the American people are tired of.
Long after most of the country, and even some of the conservative critics have acknowledged that the impact on illegal immigration IS NOT the drain on resources some have said it to be. In fact, studies (new and old) have shown that there is a net tax and resource benefit from immigration, even illegal. Even if you were to take some of the figures Mr. Dobbs throws around as being even half accurate, if there was a net negative cost to illegal immigration as large as Mr. Dobbs claims, and if you were to multiply that number by the number of illegal immigrants even the most right-wing conservative would have you believe, and the MULTIPLY this by 25-30 years, you would not have a FRACTION of the money spent on just a fraction of TARP funds we gave to FOREIGN banks and companies.
Mr. Dobbs obsessive fascination with “the perils” of illegal immigration has long ago led me to believe that MR. Dobbs is a rascist, pure and simple. I would caution him against going against a person, any person, and especially Mr. Olbermann who has a keen command of facts at his disposal and who, unlike Mr. Dobbs, is not afraid to use them!
I thought he was slightly a nutter with the immigration obsession, but when he went after Media Matters, he was permanently suspect as far as I was concerned. So far Lou just keeps proving me right…
Maricopa County, Arizona is the best area in the country for reliable illegal alien crime statistics. The county sheriff, Joe Arpaio, has aggressively decided to combat illegal alien crime in his county. He has partnered with federal ICE through the 287 (g) program which trains local law enforcement personnel in determining and dealing with illegal aliens. He has a well staffed Triple I Unit (Illegal Immigrant Interdiction Unit).
The MCAO report from County Attorney Andrew Thomas features these startling numbers for prosecuted felony cases in Maricopa County, Arizona:
In 2007, illegal immigrants accounted for:
10% of sex crimes convictions
11% of murders convictions
13% of stolen cars convictions
13% of aggravated assaults convictions
17% of those sentenced for violent crimes
19% of those sentenced for property crimes
20% of those sentenced for felony DUI.
21% of crimes committed with weapons
34% of those sentenced for the manufacture, sale or transport of drugs
36% of those sentenced for kidnapping
44% of forgeries
50% of those sentenced for crimes related to “chop shops”
85% of false ID convictions
96% of smuggling convictions
Illegal immigrants make up 19 percent of those convicted of crimes in Maricopa County and 21 percent of those in county jails.
Illegal immigrants only make up an estimated 9 percent of the county’s population.
It is estimated that each violent crime cost citizens $20,000, and each property crime cost citizens $4363 per offense.
Lou Dobbs has credibility, a crack investigative staff and data and statistics to back up his journalistic opinions. Olberman has none of the afforementioned. Olberman is nothing more than an emotional hack, a left wing wing-nut.
Olbermann wants Mexico and Illegal Alien Advocates to decide what the Immigration Policy of the USA is… not concerned citizens. The internationalization and
concentration of illegal aliens in Los Angeles,New York and Chicago has
cost those cities their perspective and objectivity!
POOR KEITH OLBERMANN…..HE IS SUCH AN UNHAPPY PERSON AND SOMEWHAT FURIOUS IN HIS POSITION IN LIFE THAT IT REALLY ISNT LAUGHABLE.
THIS MAN FOR 3 YEARS NOW HAS BEEN THE LOWEST RATED COMMENTATOR ON TV. EVEN HIS CO-HORT CHRIS MATTHEWS IS RATED A TAD BIT HIGHER THAN OLBERMANN.
OLBERMANN HATES BILL O’REILLY SINCE O’REILLY HAS HELD THE TOP SLOT FOR THE LAST THREE YEARS, AND HIS RATINGS ARE TRIPLE THOSE OF OLBERMANN, CHRIS MATTHEWS,AND THE CNN NEWS TEAM…TOO BAD, HOW SAD, KEITH…PERHAPS YOU SHOULD BE A SPORTS COMMENTATOR….YOU MIGHT GET RATED THERE SOMEHOW….?

Olbermann is not a journalist, he is a hate monger, he acts like a 7 year old full of hate and lies.
Way to go Lou.
It’s appropriate that Lou Dobbs would ask what has happened to ‘moderation’ and ‘credibility’ – he lacks both. I always shake my head when Lou describes his program as having an ‘independent’ viewpoint. He is so right-wing he makes Bill O’Reilly look like a moderate. At least Keith Olbermann is honest about his political stance. Whether they agree with him or not, viewers know exactly what they’re going to get when they watch Mr. Olbermann.
Mr. Dobbs might want to consider adjusting his own medication – it doesn’t appear to be working.
