Coming Soon: Fitna II

Good news for fans of Geert Wilders’ movie Fitna: he has announced he is working on a sequal, entitled “Fitna 2.”

Wilders told Dutch newspaper the Telegraaf that Fitna II will take it all “one step further.” It will not be a repetition of the original movie.

The theme of the first movie was that Islamic terrorists are inspired by certain quotes from the Qur’an. The two, Qur’an and terrorism, Wilders tried to argue in Fitna, are linked.

Fitna 2 will be different. It will not focus on (a selective interpretation of) the Qur’an. There will be no ‘theology’ involved. Instead, Wilders wants to warn for the ‘dangers’ of ‘Islamization,’ and he will use the sequel to show just how much Europe has ‘Islamized’ already.

“I want to confront the public with the consequences of mass immigration from Muslim countries,” the member of Parliament said. He will spend a lot of time to the freedom of speech (probably how it has been limited in recent years) and to the Sharia – Islamic law.

He will produce the movie with American experts from New York and Hollywood, he said, although he did not name any of them. Somewhere in the course of next week, the man whose party is currently leading in the polls in the Netherlands, he will go to Florida for a fundraiser for his new project.

It will be interesting to see whether Fitna II will receive as much attention as the first one. It seems likely it will not: it is difficult to re-create a controversy.

On the other hand, Dutch law – yes, there are those restrictions again (before he releases the film, I suggest we get rid of those restrictions altogether – allows one to criticize religion, yes, but it ‘protects’ groups from being insulted. If immigrants feel insulted by Fitna II, they could very well push the Justice Department to bring charges against the controversial politician. You also have to wonder how the infamous ‘youths’ will take a direct attack at them and their parents – who are immigrants from Muslim countries after all.

These ‘youths’ are not exactly famous for their moderate reaction to things they do not like. They responded pretty calmly to Fitna I, but will they be able to control themselves when they feel directly attacked?

Furthermore, Wilders is the most prominent politicians of this country. Everybody pays attention to everything he does. As said, he is currently leading in the polls: if elections were held today, he would become this country’s prime minister. Everything a prospective PM does is considered important, of course, especially if it is related to such a hotly debated subject.

That is all speculation, of course. We will have to wait until 2010 – Wilders takes his time to work on this movie, and I am pretty sure he has a tremendous bunch of legal advisers who will make sure he does not put himself in a situation he does not want to be in.

An example of a decent man with the courage to simply speak the truth. I thank God he’s doing what he’s doing, we need more like him.

I fully believe that the USA is going to become like Europe, in that we are going to be bowing and scraping to islamics because we are going to be so inundated with them that we will all be too afraid to stand up to them. The day is coming when we are going to be over run with them and no one is doing a thing to stop them. Thanks to this “president” that we now have in office. He’d rather go make friends with the likes of Chavez and secure Mexicos borders but not ours, make enemies of the people who live her instead of enemies of the terrorists. He’s doing everything backwards.
