Napolitano stands by ‘right-wing extremism’ report

It is utterly unbelievable, but Janet Napolitano says she stands by the right-wing extremism report issued by the DHS earlier this year. The report was criticized by conservatives for its poor wording. We at PoliGazette too have criticized it, even though we admit that far-right nuts have used violence against the government and fellow citizens – and they may dream about doing so again.
But the report did not focus on the Timothy McVeigh’s of this world alone. Rather, the DHS report basically labels all those who believe in the principles of federalism “right-wing radicals,” who pose “a threat” to the nation.
Where federalism was once considered the foundation of America, the DHS seems to consider it “extreme” today.
Instead of apologizing for these poorly worded parts of the report and promising these parts will be edited, Napolitano voiced her full support for it.

I think the report was most likely accurate with one exception. The overwhelming use of RIGHT WING in a time in this country in which people are clearly labeling each other over and over.
This report used the term right wing over and over when in fact it did not have to.
I have a question. Why is it that someone who is in favor of amnesty is not a left wing activist but someone who is opposed to amnesty is a RIGHT WING ACTIVIST.
This report is clearly motivated to drive a more divisive wedge into the American Psyche. I’m sure the good woman does stand behind the report.
What concerns me most is this statement: “rightwing extremist ideology are the most dangerous domestic terrorism threat.” Google “Terrorist training camps in the U.S.” and see who’s operating them. If DHS (and Congress) think the biggest threat is the rightwing, that implies they know nothing about Jihadist camps right here in America!?? How can we ask foreign countries like Pakistan to shut down their camps when we allow them to continue operating on our own soil? How can we call the “greatest” threat rightwing Americans when the report is full of speculation on what “may” or “could” increase recruitment, while Jihadist camps are operating in full swing across the nation? How can they afford the effort to worry about what “may” be when they should be countering know threats right here on U.S. soil?
I’ve written all of my representatives expressing my concern over the Islamic training camps. I suggest everyone reading this do the same. Our nation’s resources should be directed toward addressing known threats, not making up threats based on very, very poor evidence.
This report is the kind of thing that drives our country farther apart, and rightfully so. I personally think there should be a few jobs on the line here, starting with Janet Napolitano. There is clearly a political agenda being pushed here. After reading this report I would not blame anyone who feels they fall into one of the categories, which is about half or more of this country, to start stocking up on weapons and getting ready to defend themselves, against the government. Watch how the sell of weapons is going to keep going though the roof. History shows us that this is how fascism normally starts, and has led to the slaughter of hundreds of millions of people around the world. For a report like this to be put out by our government, there is no excuse for it. President Obama needs to do the right thing here, and step up to the plate, fire Ms Napolitano, and then apologize to everyone who was offended by this report, and let it be known that this will not be allowed on his watch. Anything less will be taken as he agrees and supports it, and will continue to drive this country of ours farther apart.
The problem is, Napolitano hit the nail on the head. Recognizing there is a problem allows society to deal with it if we choose to be responsible.
We have had no trouble castigating left wing extremism in this country, why should the right wing be exempt? Indeed, the inability to even recognize the already overwhelmingly right side slant of American politics (where a center left politician like Obama would be seen as “socialist”) is part of the problem. Ironically, while American fears have always been whipped up over the perceived dangers of right side totalitarianism, the danger in a post-industrial capitalist system is almost always in the opposite direction – the tendency when capitalism becomes chaotic to lapse into fascism. Hence the US inability to deal with Cuba in any kind of productive way and its support for (and in some cases, creation of) a long string of fascist regimes from the Shah of Iran to Pincohet in Chile.
For those who doubt that Napolitano’s report is based in plausible concerns, I would simply offer you the name of a returning veteran from a former invasion of Iraq: Timothy McVeigh.
Time to get honest with ourselves, America.
It is very simple. Take away the public’s money and ability to physically defend itself, and you can completely control it. When the government has all of your money and guns you will not be able to breath without permission. Pointing fingers at the right wing and accusing us of being terrorists is an attempt to criminalize us in the minds of the moderates. We are already criminals in the minds of the left. By making moderates think that we are evil it will be easier to pass total gun ban legislation. That is this administration’s true intent. From the ACORN ground troops to the Oval Office, they all want to completely control every move we make because they think we are too stupid to think for ourselves.
I wonder how long it will take for a person in possession of a PERMIT for a concealed handgun to be considered a right wing extremist and therefor a terrorist. My guess is that some already do. What do you think about a person who chooses to defend his/herself from a vicious attack?
Criminals by and large are actually smarter than we give them credit. They are just too lazy to put their brains to work on something legitimate. It is no strange correlation that when Florida allowed it’s law abiding citizens to carry concealed weapons that crime went up on tourists. Holy cow! You mean that criminals are smart enough to attack people they know aren’t armed? That’s right folks, and by the by, most street thugs who have a party affiliation are registered DEMOCRATS. Left extremists who want to take what you have earned without asking. Sound familiar?
I digress. My point is this: Janet wants to eventually make people who own guns (primarily the conservative right) look bad by lumping us all in the “terrorist” category. That makes it easier to take our freedom to own firearms, thereby making us defenseless. It’s easy for me to see, but who am I? Just a normal everyday Joe the Fireman. I have no criminal past. I have never killed anyone, even when I served my country as a US Marine. Oh yeah, I forgot that because I am vet I am even more of a terrorist.
Call your congressman and ask for Janet’s job. It would not be the first time a liberally appointed person was asked to resign over saying something stupid. Just look up Bill Clinton’s firing of Minnie Joycelyn Elders as Surgeon General. She wanted to teach school children how to masturbate. For those mush brains who don’t remember this just do a google search on it.
Now let the games begin with the next liberal commenter who will call me all sorts of names instead of getting to any real issues.
“We have had no trouble castigating left wing extremism in this country,”
Huh? Not to bring up an old issue but don’t we hear a lot about a college professor who once was involved with the bombing of the Pentagon. He was certainly castigated from the right but from the left?
On another note, I see that Janet apologized to Veterans today. I suspect this will be one of those rolling apologies with discussions of “poorly chosen words” etc. Timing and publicity was poor especially since her two main issues should be border issues and international security.
You folks who keep chanting McVeigh should go peak at the FBI’s list of wanted domestic terrorists and compare the count of “right wing” to “left wing” people on there. …. Ah, why do I bother. Liberals HATE the military so much, they are so totally blinded by it they can’t see wrong from right – can’t tell personal responsibility from corporate responsibility. If you can tear yourself away from the television long enough to actually read something on your own, try googling “On sheep, wolves, and sheepdogs” to find out why you so hate the people that volunteer to die in your place.
Why do you say anything if you haven’t actually read the report? If you have actually read what is says, why do you keep repeating what you heard on TV?
The bleating of those who can’t think is hurting my head.
