Harman/AIPAC Connection Is Not New
I know there a few commenters here who think that the connection of Congresswoman Jane Harman to AIPAC and the Israeli agent is something so very new and having to do with President Barack Obama. Well, I’ve got news for you: you’re wrong. I don’t normally agree with her on a host of issues, but one person who has been following this from the very beginning is Michelle Malkin, starting from the firing of the now indicted AIPAC officials who Harman is supposedly taped as saying that she’ll lobby the Justice Department to get their sentences reduced. Malkin has a whole page of articles that you can read, stretching back to 2005.
By the way, not only is Harman implicated in this scandal, but also possibly former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, who reportedly stopped the investigation into Harman because he wanted her to defend the warrantless wiretapping program. Malkin also thinks he has explaining to do, and has previously criticized both left and right for being tight lipped on this scandal. So kudos to her on being consistent here.
So no, this isn’t something about Republicans versus Democrats or a power grab by Obama. Corruption isn’t necessarily tied to a certain administration, and right now both a Democrat and a Republican have their name in the mix. Nice try, though.

You had me curious until I saw the name “Michelle Malkin” as your source.
Michelle is a shameless class warrior and propagandist …
She was once a 9-11 truth seeker until she sold out for Fox-sake.
I agree it’s not an Obama “secret Muslim” thingy … this story is dated to the End Times seeker President, who left office in disgrace. (remember that ‘restore dignity to the white House promise in 2000 ?).
We all know that the worst secret Muslim sect of all … is Zionist
Isn’t lobbying and discussion thereof fairly normal behavior for both congresspersons and lobbyists? Nothing corrupt unless bribery is involved.
I stand corrected. This was most likely team Obama releasing this to show anyone who wants to cozy up to the Israelis that it wont be tolerated in the new world order which puts Iran and Venezuela and North Korea at the top of the pecking order.
This is intended to further errode the sway of the Aipac in the USA and to make sure that when Obama moves against Israel he has public support.
We all know that generally the far left does not have much sympathy for the Israelis while at the same time professing an eerie infatuation for Hamas, Hezzbollah and the Palestinians.
Nothing more here then an overt attempt to lay ground for what is ahead.
Not what is in the past.
As the op points out this is ongoing. So why did team Obama let it become exposed? That is the real question.
Then you ignored the next two paragraphs, when I note that she is hounding Alberto Gonzales for his alleged role in all of this. Yea, that Alberto Gonzales. Maybe you should continue reading next time before pulling out your pre-defined biases just because of a name.
Go back and read Michael’s post, Holly. She was talking to someone assumed to be an Israeli agent, i.e. a spy.
The fact that every other story on this came out during the years when team Bush held the White House, that seems unlikely. But, conspiracy theory noted.
There is no conspiracy in this. Stuff like this does not leak without a reason. Or at least rarely leaks out into the cold night air of DC.
There is a reason this is coming to light at this time.
Perhaps its the right with a stash of tapes and the fact that this has been known for some time is just a hat tip to the Democrats essentially saying…….go ahead….make our day.
Perhaps it is Obama leaking it to expose those who would dare to snuggle up to the Aipac and the Jewish nation. A “I told you so” moment.
Perhaps its nothing. But the real question continues to be WHY was this leaked and why NOW.
