Via Hot Air, here is the audio of the GE shareholder’s meeting reported about earlier today. As said, GE shareholders rebelled against the company’s executives, out of anger with especially MSNBC’s clear liberal bias. Fox producer Jesse Waters nearly received a standing ovation for slamming Janeane Garofalo who said on Keith Olbermann’s show recently that tea party protesters were nothing but racists who could not accept a black man living in the White House.
Listen to the audio – the shareholders clearly agree with Waters and start booing when Waters’ question is answered. These people want action.
“Do you consider that a form of hatespeech,” Waters asked. “Again my own personal views aside, I believe that MSNBC has standards that they follow…” CEO Jeff Immelt answered until he was cut off by loud booing from shareholders.
Every news organization has to be careful not to alienate the public and especially not its shareholders – if it has shareholders, that is. MSNBC has made the mistake to believe that shareholders are only interested in high ratings; they also care about common decency and, lest we forget, many of them are probably fiscal conservatives who have little to no appreciation for President Obama’s economic policies.
Will MSNBC get its act together or will its shareholders cause a major revolt?

Eh, if “real journalist” is getting in someone’s face and toeing the line of respect/disrespect for people’s space, then so be it. Jesse Waters is clearly the next generation of journalist. Nevermind the fact that he works for a conservatively-biased boss.
Asking tough questions is different than being a journalist. I can ask tough questions from here, too. Doesn’t mean I’m a journalist.
I agree MM – then you put “Nevermind the fact that he works for a conservatively-biased boss”
I know you are aware that msnbc’s bosses are liberally-biased, and it’s not exactly like the Liberals do not have any frothing at the mouth screamers posing as Journalists.
Ah, you can’t beat the Left for class. Call me sheltered but when the Obamanites started in with the “teabagging” I had to look the word up. I wonder how many of them are explaining it to their kids?

It is about time someone acted like a real journalist and faced the
corruption that has been, and is, ruining our society.
