Another DHS Memo: Conservatives Beware

May 1st, 2009 By: Michael van der Galien | Tags: , , ,

dhsRemember the DHS report about ‘right-wing extremism’ and the threat ‘right-wingers’ posed? You know, the one that forced Janet Napolitano – who heads the DHS – to issue an apology for insulting tens of millions of patriotic Americans?

Well, the department’s geniuses wrote another memo:

The Department of Homeland Security set off a firestorm earlier this month when a memo surfaced that warned of right-wing extremists. The memo, which was issued to law-enforcement officials, suggested that extremists driven to dire straits by the Obama administration could recruit returning veterans to help produce Timothy McVeigh-like terrorism. Now, The Daily Beast has obtained another DHS memo, and this one identifies an even more far-ranging group of “extremists.”…

The new memo obtained by The Daily Beast locates an even wider-ranging group of extremists among us. You could safely say it crosses liberal and conservative lines: Entries range from Mexican separatists to antiabortion extremists to racial Nordic mysticism. (Islamic groups are specifically excluded from this document.)

The DHS would not be the DHS if it would not target conservatives specifically:

(U) anti-immigration extremism: (U//FOUO) A movement of groups or individuals who are vehemently opposed to illegal immigration, particularly along the U.S. southwest border with Mexico, and who have been known to advocate or engage in criminal activity and plot acts of violence and terrorism to advance their extremist goals. They are highly critical of the U.S. Government’s response to illegal immigration and oppose government programs that are designed to extend “rights” to illegal aliens, such as issuing driver’s licenses or national identification cards and providing in-state tuition, medical benefits, or public education.

(U) rightwing extremism: (U//FOUO) A movement of rightwing groups or individuals who can be broadly divided into those who are primarily hate-oriented, and those who are mainly antigovernment and reject federal authority in favor of state or local authority. This term also may refer to rightwing extremist movements that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration.

Get that? Oppose driver’s licenses for illegal immigrants? Well, let’s just say the FBI is onto you!

If you did not do so yet, read the above at least three times and think about it for a while. “and those who [...] reject federal authority in favor of state or local authority.” Despite Napolitano’s apology, the DHS continues to call federalists / conservatives / libertarians extremists.

This is exceptional and very troubling. The memo repeats the notion that those who support a literal interpretation of the Constitution (constitutionalists) are extremists.

More:

“Domestic Extremism Lexicon” is dated March 26—shortly before the flap over the right-wing extremism memo broke out. According to a spokesperson for DHS, the memo was recalled “within minutes” of being issued, though the spokesperson declined to offer any details on the reasons for its withdrawal.

I have to disagree with Charles Johnson when he writes that this memo is “an even-handed look at a whole range of extremist groups.” Black separatists, white supremacists, etc. are indeed extremists. We can all agree on that. But the definition of ‘right-wing extremism’ seemingly accepted by DHS officials is so generic that conservatives should be worried.

Now, it is good to hear that the memo was ‘recalled,’ but the fact that it was written is troubling enough.

We have truly fallen down the rabbit hole. Up is down and wrong is right. How did we get to this point where our elected leaders leap at the opportunity to welcome criminals to our nation? They are fond of saying that breaching our borders is not a crime. How about stealing IDs, and presenting fake documents with false names? Oh, that’s okay because they are poor. When did poor become an excuse for committing crimes? My family went through the depression, THAT was poor. We neither stole nor starved to death. We made do,just as the citizens of Mexico and others who sneak into our country can do. Mexico has many millionaires. Why don’t they help. Just one million could sustain one or two villages in Mexico. How about helping yourselves rather than depending on Uncle Sam? Where is the fabled “macho” spirit? Their fat cat leaders have decided to let us do it while they sit back and count the remittances that flow into that corrupt and violent country. I think many Americans would like the border sealed and to just forget that Mexico exists. I hope I’m not the only one who feels this way.

I recently wrote this letter to Glenn Beck, Fox News:

    Mr. Beck,

I happened to have Fox News plugged in this evening and noticed you on the O’Reilly Factor. And like the pompous Mr. O’Reilly, I had his program’s sound turned down because I, too, was working on something. Of course, I immediately turned up the sound because I enjoy your viewpoints.

It did not go unnoticed by countless people that when you were attempting to explain the problem of illegal immigrants crossing our border for FREE healthcare, O’Reilly cut you off and changed the subject. Typical. I could see it coming by the look on his face when you made the reference to the Mexican working at a tamale stand. So what? Are there no tamale stands in Mexico? That’s like saying that there are no McDonald’s in America. There was absolutely nothing wrong with that analogy.

For the record, I also like watching the heated exchanges between Mr. O’Reilly and some of his pinhead guests, but I also believe he has an ancient stick so far up his ass, his breath smells like termite shit. And he constantly cuts people off. I can understand that about rambling, incurable dullards, but what about Newt Gingrich? Let the man say his piece. He is PERFECTLY capable of making his point in a timely manner without being cut off and paraphrased. O’Reilly must think that we are stupid, monosyllabic imbeciles or something. I suspect that’s a direct reflection of his obvious narcissism.

I wish you had been given the opportunity to explain your point about free healthcare for these illegal invaders. “Politically correct” or not, this is what they are. This is a major problem. Hospitals are closing down by record numbers and healthcare professionals are losing their jobs by the droves. These individuals usually come to our emergency rooms with problems that are in advanced stages because they are probably hesitant based on their illegal status. By this point, they are highly contagious. And they come in with every disease known, and unknown, to modern medicine. And, as you can imagine, their treatments are extremely expensive, complex, and require inpatient treatment that can last for weeks of intensive care.

Can you imagine taking your child to one of our emergency rooms and sitting near one of these people coughing and sneezing all around you? That question may seem “inhumane”, but is it fair for us to be subjected to this? These people shouldn’t be here in the first place!! What is so hard for some people to comprehend this? What is being done about this given the current attempt at healthcare reform? Not a damn thing that I can see.

This isn’t “hate-based” rhetoric from some “racist”. I am an American tax-paying citizen, a parent of an 8 year old child, and I work in the healthcare industry. I am also a military veteran. Am I not allowed to question these issues without being branded as some sort of radical, or being cut off by the likes of O’Reilly when my concerns are being addressed by people like you? I’d assume that you were on the O’Reilly Factor to represent these issues that concern people like me and thousands of others. Too bad you weren’t allowed to. And joking or not (by either of you), your question was legitimate – why bother coming on his show in the first place?

Watch this if you have time:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bLJxmJZXgNI

UNBELIEVABLE… And this is just the very tip of the iceberg. There are tens of thousands of these patients nationwide. And guess who is paying for it?

And, obviously, this testimony was well before the swine flu outbreak. What are we in store for? It’s too bad you were cut off before contributing to this grave issue. Good thing you have your own show!! It’s now #1 in my book!

No longer must the anti-American rhetoric be disguiised. Now the skull-bashing club of political correctness makes demonizing those right and white hatinng views on nearly everything sacrosanct and unopposible. By speaking the truth nowadays, one risks literally life, limb, employment, and reputation if you do not loudly support the leftist agenda. Someone should be keeping a record of these lies and perhaps someday publish a book of them so that generations to come can know what insanity occured in our time. Ike was right to photograph the horrors of the Holicost so that it is at least more difficult to deny that it ever happened. We don’t have the gas chambers yet, but we DO have NPR spueing it’s own form of “Ziclon B” to emliminate those who oppose the Left. Of course, possessing such a tome whould no doubt be punishable by death of permanent incarceration (as would saying such teasonoous things as illegal invaders to the USA should work or that known terrorists should be at least slightly inconvenienced by those agencies who used to be charged with protecting Americans.

It never ceases to amaze me at how this nation is headed the path of Fascism.

    Let me repost.

Fascists advocate the creation of a single-party state.
Fascism is a radical and authoritarian nationalist political ideology.

From the Dictionary. A political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition

Now as I see it the GOP could be capable of Fascism but they are so weakened that they are incapable of even defending themselves against lies.

The Democrats on the other hand are very powerful, are entrenched and are attempting to instill a strong and powerful nanny state government.(authoritarian nationalist political ideology.)

They are actively attempting to squelch the input of the GOP by locking them out of the governmental process and not allowing them to have any say in the formulation of legislation.(single party state.)

Forcible suppression of the opposition as in internet bullying and the MSM that is agenda driven and is squelching the say of the opposition to the Democratic party. Barak Obama threatening Bond holders if they put up a legal and constitutional right to fight for what is there due process.

    The Bully Pulpit.

The path to fascism is an easy one to take and tempting. Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are content with squelching representation of Americans by locking out the GOP from the process of Government.

I hope the MSM wakes up and begins taking notice of what is actually going on in this country.

Bloggers – Careful What You Write!
If this ship keeps heading in this direction, it’s gonna get there! Exactly where “there” is, is what bothers me. If I think into it far enough, I find myself unconsciously searching my pockets, trying to find my “papers”. While my heels in an “OCD” like fashion start clicking together. Normally in America, when you click your heels together you think, “there’s no place like home”. But this is my home. How did I become the enemy in the land of my home, in the land of my Great Great Grand Fathers? As you read this, you should know that you are suspect now. I’ll leave you with this from the “Lexicon” of Obama. The “alternative” media is a studied threat.

    To:RichardKP,
I can understand your caution but I see it like this, we all can stand together or we all fall together into the dark hole that obama and his insects are creating for us and our countrymen, so let’s stand up and sound off. If the obama creeps and party want a fight then we must meet the evil wisers with what it takes to stop the destruction of our nation. This is not a weak mention of freedoms call, but a duty long lived in our country by those who came and died before our freedoms of today fade into oblivion.
The hour is fast approaching, on which the Honor and Success of this people, and the safty of our bleeding Country depend. Remember Countrymen and Soldiers, that you are free men, fighting for the blessings of Liberty– that slavery will be your portion, and that of your posterity, if you do not acquit yourselves like men.
PS:Never forget to remember the price paid by our dead.
