Anti-Obamacare Protesters Take the Streets, Democrats Panic

Today was another big day for the national tea party movement.
Turnout was robust around the country, although some protesters were met with harrassment and profanity. Michelle Malkin and Glenn Reynolds have reports. The tea party-movement is really catching on. And it has succeeded in changing the dynamics in America already. Obama’s approval ratings are dropping fast, for instance. Only 52% of voters say they approve somewhat. This was much higher only a few months ago.
And what happens when Obama’s approval ratings drop? Right, moderate Democrats turn their backs on him and reach out to Republican congressmen instead. They panic. The Democratic coalition is falling apart.
The reason? Well, Obama has proved to be a true liberal. A hardcore leftist, this even though he campaigned as a moderate.
Furthermore, and the tea party movement deserves a lot of respect for that, fiscal conservatives have wasted little time pointing out the rather obvious to their fellow countrymen. If it was up to the media, Obama would have gotten away with every single far-left plan he can think of. The tea party protesters – and others of course – did what the media should have done, namely to educate voters about the real nature of every single one of Obama’s plans.

It is a great thing that these “tea Partiers” have the courage to stand up against this Socialist like reform change. Americans don’t want this all pinned on one group of people such as small businesses. If universal healthcare were to pass doctors and nurses would become government jobs. Their pay would be reduced magnificently. If this kind of thing happens then the shortage of nurses shall only get bigger, and the quality of doctoring shall go down. Obama, who I had voted for, has seem to unmask himself and show who he really is. A big question we should ask ourselves is , “why would I want to pay the healthcare of some man or woman who doesn’t want to get a job, or is illegal?” I will take a stand against Obama, as well should everyone. If illegal immigrants can be made legal so that they may contribute to our taxes and our social security that would be an accomplishment. If all Americans are made to contribute to a tax so that universal healthcare may exist, it would be fair.

There is a wealth of web sites that offer information re the deception of the Emporer’s health care reform; The new Health Care System is to create a revenue source for the governing body of the United States (that governing body is typically individuals who work in concert to extort our monies). The revenue will stay with the controllers of the wallet/purse strings and a pittance will be shelled out for the “little people” It will produce substandard care because government employees get paid whether the product is superb or inferior, the money will be siphoned off as usual and diverted as the spoils for the lobbyists and not the tax payers…why kill oneself to be productive in the beehive when the reward is nil? That explains why capitalism and charity coincide to create a system where the industrious are rewarded and the ones struggling to make ends meet get care/a hand up, not a hand out. In the early colonies the initial “set-up” was for “share and share alike”. The land was equally divided and the foods stored in a communal storage. However! the 80/20 rule persisted and the lazy do for nothings expected their “share” while the hard workers had less! The following year…the land plots were still equally divided, but it was each for themselves. Ha! The story of the grasshopper and the ants is still true! Don’t be deceived! Investigate and then don’t be afraid of your government! If we have become afraid of our government employees (who are, by the way, our public servants) then the government is becoming a Tyranny. Get informed and TALK it UP with your neighbors and coworkers. When did it become a crime to have an opinion? When did we be afraid to have a point of view? Turn off the tv and turn on your mind!!!! There’s a clause in the Senate version to that effect, inserted by Senator Coburn (R-OK). Don’t hold your breath for that to be in the final version.
I don’t deny our system needs work, and I don’t really have an issue with giving government help to the truly needy (medicaid already does). But a complete overhaul of our system, creating a government plan that will crush private health care insurance? Along with huge tax increases on ‘the rich,’ meaning small businesses in large part? Sheer madness! I will never allow the government to take over my health care. They pass this and it’s time for a pitchfork march on DC.

I think Congress should make the details of their plan made public. I would like to know how much they pay if anything and all the other details of a health plan. Since they already have a plan why not offer it up to whoever wants it. You would not see one of them on TV talking up their plan, they would be hiding like rats exposed to the light. Do you think old Teddy K. went to the local county hospital or to the best one that money could buy? They all think they are above us common folks.

I say kick them all out in
Sounds good in theory, but the reality is that the majority of illegal aliens are unskilled, undereducated, workers (many of whom have multiple, non-working dependents) who won’t be earning enough to owe income taxes. If they are “made legal” they’ll be entitled to various “tax credits” for low-income wage earners, so we will be paying them, they won’t be paying us. And adding millions of low-income immigrants to the Social Security rolls will only lead to an earlier bankrupcy of the system. Is that the kind of accomplishment you have in mind?
How can any parent not be joining in the Tea Party movements? Do parents not stand up for their children’s best interests anymore? Or for their aging parents/grandparents. Or for America? Or for their own best interests? If they did, Tea Party participants would be out in the Millions, Daily!
Too true, if congress is going to have a separate plan, it really makes you wonder why. The thing i always point out is that if you (congress) can’t fix social security and medicaid/medicare then how can you be trusted to create another program of comparable size and potential for disaster. because, uh, we all know just how well social sec has worked out! of course the irony is that members of congress don’t have to pay into social security either. no, they get this huge cushy pension plan that the american tax payer has to pay for.

We had over 200 people at the Dallas, TX ObamaCare protest on Friday, the 17th. We were out there protesting the horrendous attempt by the current President and his craven Congress to take over our health care. Yes, our health care has problems, but this fast track to encumber all Americans with a half-baked national health care bill is not the answer.
We protested as close to Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson’s Dallas office as we were allowed to, all four corners of Meadow Road and the northbound access road of Central Expressway. Hundreds of cars and trucks passed by…most of them honking their horns and giving us thumbs up for encouragement. The weather was ideal…double digits in the low 90s instead of the triple digits we’ve had for the past several weeks. Mood was good, lots of laughter and talk amongst us…but believe me, we were all firm in our belief that a government take-over of the health care in this country WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.
Got word in the late afternoon that Senator Hutchinson would veto the bill when it comes up in the Senate.
We’ll see.

Do you remember Obama’s campaign rhetoric that he wanted all Americans to have the same “gold-plated” health care Congress has? Compare that “promise” with the current Obamacare proposals.
This is hilarious. These people have nothing better to do than protest getting healthcare!! Its like they want to get sick and die. Weird. Me I want to be healthy, so Im backing the healthcare proposal 100%. If I were to but health insurace, being a mid 30 male, It would bancrupt me to carry it, but without it, I could go bancrupt if I got sick. Thank goodness my work covers me or I would be out of luck. And I dont understand how parents could let their children be seen holding these signs. Do they want their children to die young?
Several helpful things to vent your anger (at the right people and place):
1. Cancel all newspapers and cable (propaganda).
2. Attend TEA PARTIES or organize one in your area.
3. Avoid purchasing non-essentials.
4. Save as much money as possible.
5. Attend local government money and FORCE them to stop accepting matching Federal Funds for projects they can’t afford.
6. Call your Senators and Representatives EVERY time you are mad about something. Tell them we don’t need them if they let OBAMA run the country.
7. Tell all your friends and relatives to do the same.
8. Subscribe to power organizations like NRA and Heritage Foundation.
9. Vote Independent and Republican (where you can stomach the candidate). Vote with a HEAVY BIAS against Democrats and LIBERAL Democrats especially.
10. Contribute money to defeat Reid, Pelosi, Dodd, Frank, Waxman and their ilk in 2010 and beyond.
11. Learn about the Climate Change HOAX and GREEN SHOOTS HOAX being foisted upon us. Challenge everyone you meet to become informed. Google Milankovitch Cycle.
12. Avoid buying union made products, especially cars.
13. Pressure your state government to FIRE UNNECESSARY employees BEFORE RAISING TAXES. Get citizens to review what is going on or not going on.
14. TELL CONGRESS TO RECESS IMMEDIATELY. Bring pending bills home and WE will read them.
15. TELL CONGRESS TO BALANCE THE BUDGET BY FURLOUGHS. If it’s good enough for California, it’s good enough for the rest of us.
16. FIGHT EVERY TAX INCREASE, INCLUDING LOCAL INCREASE IN “FEES”.
We had a protest in Centreville, MD at Rep. Kratovil’s (D-MD) district office. The rain held off so our parade around the one block in town to Mr. Kratovil’s office was uneventful. The police kept us off the road bed even though the office was on a low traveled side street. That caused the group of 100+ to be compacted in the mid 80 degree and humid weather. The office manager came out and he was strongly engaged. The protesters were reasonably civil considering that no one had admitted voting for Mr. Kratovil when the crowd at the rally assembly point was asked. So it was a very partisan crowd.
I would have liked the office manager to have had an opportunity to speak without being interrupted. Because of the small area for the protest, I stayed outside of the crowd, but I was told he gave talking points that were unacceptable as to why Mr. Kratovil voted for the cap and trade bill. But he was “brave” enough to face the crowd. Obviously our presence intimidated the staff since a lady there with children said she was afraid to leave the office. It’s a shame our congresspeople don’t feel a bit the same way.
We are planning an August 11th protest at his Bel Air Office from 4-6 pm. I have picketed this office at the end of June and two groups are planning more routine picketing. We need to picket every working day and on Saturday utilizing the tactics of MLK.

The vast majority of us already have health care … what we are protesting is the efforts by the alleged “experts” of Congress and the Executive Branch to take over ALL of our health care, instead of leaving this aspect of our lives to We the People.
Don’t buy the “private/public options in competition” lie … how can private-sector insurers compete with a public option that does not have to worry about balancing their books … run by the same politicians who (1) have already illustrated via Social Security their ability to subject programs to “mission creep” to score political points, and (2) write the regulations for the private-sector insurers? Eventually, the public option will be the ONLY option, because the politicians will rig the competitive game to make it so … even with the best of intentions.
Not to mention the proposed cost controls that will drive many professionals out of the health care industry … and deny opportunities for innovation, that would lead to even better health care … once the Feds get their hands completely around it.

It would be far less expensive, and far more efficient, to change the regulations surrounding individual health plans — along with implementing tort-reform measures to stop the lawsuit lottery that is a major expense in health care — so that you could afford individual coverage.
And even with group coverage, you still have far, far, FAR more flexibility when your coverage doesn’t match your needs, than you will under the public — excuse me ONLY — option being proposed.
Case in point, the insurance provider that I was enrolled with at work dropped us, for not having enough employees enrolled … forcing us to another plan that required referrals from our primary-care physician (whose office was hard-to-deal-with in getting those). This was enough of a problem that our owner (who was also dropped, along with us) went back and worked with the original company to offer us a new plan (without referrals).
Even without that, you can still change jobs if your coverage is inadequate … or seek charitable assistance; the major drug companies all have programs to assist those in need to obtain even the most costly medications.
When the public option becomes the ONLY option, you will have to take what you are given by the bureaucrats … there will be NO alternatives, no recourse.

No, they want their kids to be able to exercise their unalienable rights … to live free and pursue happiness … as we have, up until now … as opposed to seeing them burdened with the economic consequences of the debt we will be running up in the name of our health (among other things).
They also don’t want their kids to possibly be forced to watch their parents die, having been IRREVOCABLY denied the treatment they need because the bureaucracy has determined that it is not cost-effective … with no other place — no other insurance, no charitable entity — to go to and get it.
Finally, universal health care is also going to be far more invasive of your privacy … and your other civil liberties … than even the worst-case scenarios presented by the hard Left for the PATRIOT Act and wiretaps during the previous Administration.
I don’t understand how those who screamed over these earlier acts are so willing to place their privacy and civil liberties at such great risk.

it’s good to see so many righteously indignant citizens. nothing less than the future of our nation is at stake. this health care plan and the cap and trade are the twin levers to the complete usurpation of our rights as Americans. it will impoverish our nation. it will actually result in millions of deaths. naturally the greatest evil comes disguised as an offering of healing for the people and the planet, when in fact these schemes are advanced only for the consolidation of the power of the statists. they see this as their best chance, maybe their last chance — and they’re making a move. we must all refuse to obey. resist. our nation, 233 years in existence, thousands of years in the making, can be undone not by an external enemy but by the corrupt leaders our people, under the spell and control of the mass media, have put in power. the very idea that the senators would expect to pass legislation of this critical importance and then not be subject to it themselves is outrageous and totally unacceptable. they want you and me to eat tainted meat — but they’re going to dine with the captain. it’s not going to happen. it cannot be allowed to happen. it would be no less cowardly and shameful to allow these self aggrandizing evil men to consolidate their control and wealth at our expense than it would have been to allow Hitler to succeed. some will think that an outrageous comparison, but it’s not. we will lose our freedom and our wealth just as surely as we would have under the control of a foreign power. what do you think the government is going to do with the vast national health database? what about those who try to defy this all encompassing system? if they can cut you off from visiting the dentist, the doctor, the clinic — because you’re a member of a “fringe group” or have some kind of imaginary blot on your record, or because you’re on a watch list, or because they say so — you might as well be bank robbing fugitive from justice. to make matters worse, they’re already passing “hate crimes” legislation that says the constitution does not protect speech that “conspires” to acts of violence. i wonder if impassion speech, such as mine and that of many of you, would constitute in the minds of some bureaucrat – hate speech? see Schindler’s List, the scene on the train platform when Shindler tries to rescue his friend and plant manager from the boxcars but the only reality for the Nazis on duty was — “his name is on the list.” Period. From what I’ve seen here it looks like Americans don’t want universalhealth care but are willing to give it to countries it invades. That’s awesome!

Apparently you’ve never experienced a major, acute illness … when that is the case, universal health care “works” … just like VOLUNTARILY being uninsured works for millions of young Americans who are part of that 47 million being used as justification to put us all under a government system.
Universal health care “works” only for those who have little need for health care.
And it isn’t just Iraq and Afghanistan (which are TEMPORARY situations with regards to American funding of health care) that benefit from American military might when it comes to having universal health care … in most of the nations you list, they have the fiscal ability to experiment with such folly and get away with it (for a while) ONLY because American military might eliminates the need to pay most of all of their own freight for their defense … especially in Europe, who has lived under our nuclear umbrella as they socialized health care; they would otherwise be under the Soviet health-care system.
And even in these nations, the care falls short … and the only recourse their people have is when that happens, is to come here and get their treatment/surgery.
Where are we to go, when OUR bureaucrats mess us over in their “infinite wisdom”?

Believe me when I tell you that Canada has NOTHING to envy about the United States as it is with the rest of the world.
As for our healthcare system falling short? I happen to have been witness and involved in major, acute illnesses… the work done here at home has NEVER fallen short.
Perhaps you should stick to what you know best – your own self inflated ego.

My great uncles shared their Missouri farm fields with Minuteman missile silos as one small part of a LARGE effort to keep the USSR from annexing all of Europe.
Had we not made ALL that effort … including the highly-appreciated effort of others, including many patriotic Canadians (who might differ from your opinion about the worth of America) but still primarily supported and led by America … the Europeans either would have had to divert the funds they used for their experiments in soft, cuddly, smothering-of-initiative socialism to defend their lands … or sit by and watch the Soviets expand their not-so-cuddly experiment to include them.
Like I said, others differ from your opinion of the Canadian health care system … a system that, among other faults. capitalizes upon an implicit threat to drug companies: either sell your products to us at below-market prices, or risk having your patents declared null and void and have others unjustly profit from your — i.e. America’s — large R&D investments. We call that “freeloading” down here.
Just because you haven’t experienced the problems doesn’t mean they exist … nor are you taking into account the ability of your presently-benevolent government to infringe upon your civil liberties as a by-product of your health-care system, should they turn not-so-benevolent.
Add that to the Canadian “Human Rights Commissions” or whatever they are called, that impose severe penalties for exercising one’s freedom-of-speech if it is deemed “hateful” by the few sitting within that body … and you are a serf without even knowing it.
Fortunately, there are many Canadians who are not serfs. Hopefully, they one day will prevail over you serfs, and establish a government that does not exchange life/liberty/the pursuit of happiness in exchange for a hospital bed and “tolerance”.
