Me on Hot Air – Basiji Militia Member: ‘I Married Girls Before Execution’

July 20th, 2009 By: Michael van der Galien | Tags: , , ,

basijiYesterday I wrote a post for Hot Air called “Basiji Militia Member: ‘I Married Girls Before Execution’.” Earlier today, it was lifted from the GreenRoom to Hot Air’s frontpage, something I’m quite proud of considering this blog’s (rightful) popularity and, of course, the two great bloggers featured prominently at the site’s frontpage every day (AP and Ed Morrissey).

You can read the post here.

Teaser: A member of the infamous Basiji militia of Iran spoke to Israeli newspaper the Jerusalem Post about the Green Revolution, the regime’s response to it, and about his own professional life as a militia member. His story is beyond shocking. For instance, when he was younger, he married and had intercourse with young girls who were sentenced to death the night before their execution because Iran’s version of Sharia says virgins cannot be executed.

So he ‘married’ them – against their will of course – raped them – for they did not want to have sex with him; in fact, they often had to be drugged – and witnessed their execution only a few hours later.

Unbelievable indeed.

Read it all at Hot Air.

If this is for real, why isn’t the MSM raising hell?

PPP: because it doesn’t fit into their “hey, we can talk to these people, they’re rational, just like us” meme.

Obama wants engagement with Iran, but he just hasn’t yet figured out what the marriage would be like….

    This should be a clue.

Great article Michael. But as a conservative I was appalled by the racist comments of some hot air commenters, they were saying that Iran is an accurate representation of the whole collective of Muslims and stereotyping based on your post– how sick is that.

The Basij are evil, so are the Iranian religious leaders, but they should not even call themselves Muslims, because they are no better than a cult, much like Charlie Manson and his minions.
