ACORN is the new Cosa Nostra
O yeah. Remember last year? All of us right-of-center bloggers criticized then presidential candidate Barack Obama for his ties to ACORN. He used them in order to win the elections against John McCain and earlier in the race for the presidential nomination of the Democratic Party – and therefore against Hillary Clinton – as well.
Well, we all knew that ACORN was pretty bad, which is why we knew all we had to know about whether or not Obama truly wanted to be ‘different’ than his predecessors. He said he wanted to clean up Washington, but those of us with the faintest knowledge of ACORN knew that his connection to this group meant he was probably lying through his teeth.
Because ACORN was bad. We knew that. But this bad? No, that we didn’t know:
With 70 miles of stunning beaches and picture-perfect weather all year round, having fun during the summer in San Diego doesn’t require a lot of money.
The city combines old-fashioned Mexican charm with a modern edge. In a city where the sun is always shining, it’s the perfect place to get away for a bit of relaxation or stimulation.
If you’re looking for trendy boutique hotels, an exploding culinary scene, or visiting the local ACORN to get your underage prostitutes smuggled across the Mexican border, you’re in the right place.
And that’s not the only office that crosses the line. No, the same goes for Washington, D.S., San Diego, Baltimore and New York.
Once these scandals broke – and there are more to come, or so it seems – Obama distanced himself from ACORN. He threw the organization that help him become America’s president under the bus.
But can he distance himself from the group?
Michelle Malkin has the answer:
He IS ACORN. And ACORN is him. The “accountability” that White House flack Robert Gibbs says they take “extremely seriously” doesn’t extend to Team Obama itself — and the accountability they have evaded for pouring more than $800,000 into an ACORN front group for campaign advance work that was mysteriously re-classified as “get-out-the-vote” work.
As for the ACORN “advisory committee” that will “audit” the group’s illicit activities, I repeat:
John Stewart, who is exceptionally honest about the ACORN scandal, adds:

Conclusion: ACORN is the new cosa nostra.

Most of you probably won’t believe I am saying this (I can’t believe I am saying this), but I just had a thought.. (I know….uh, oh…:)
But is congress’ stripping ACORN of their funding unconstitutional? I mean, we saw the tapes, we know their past but until the evidence is officially gathered, and a case brought to court, can congress just do that? I’m probably just missing something; (hopefully) can someone fill me in?
