Oh Great, Iran Tests Missile

ahmadinejadWhat a timing. Shortly after Obama, Sarkozy and Brown broke the news that Western intelligence services had discovered a second, but secret nuclear facility in Iran, the Mad Mullahs decided to test some brand new missiles:

Gen. Hossein Salami, head of the Revolutionary Guard Air Force, told reporters Iran tested a multiple missile launcher for the first time. Press TV showed pictures of at least two missiles being fired simultaneously and said they were from Sunday’s drill in a desert in central Iran. In the clip, men could be heard shouting “Allahu Akbar” as the missiles were launched.

“The message of the war game for some arrogant countries which intend to intimidate is that we are able to give a proper, strong answer to their hostility quickly,” the Web site of state television quoted Salami as saying. He said the missiles successfully hit their targets.

Now, color me uninformed but didn’t Obama say he wanted more sanctions? He did not say anything about using force, now did he? So how is showing you’ve got nice, new missiles the equivalent of sending the West the message that you “are able to give a proper, strong answer” to our “hostility”?

Obama’s kind of “hostility” is running to the UN begging it to do something, anything so he can convince American voters he really is a “strong” leader.

Not exactly the kind of show of strength that warrants a “war game,” in other words.

In any case, it’s good to see that the Iranian regime shows us its true face once again – even pacifist leftists may come to understand slowly but surely that this is not a regime to be reasoned with.

He did not say anything about using force, now did he?

He said a military option wasn’t off the table.

Many countries test fire missiles and engage in military exercises. I don’t get what the big deal is.

    Obama blundered on Iran.

Obama gave up a powerful element in the negotiations with Iran.

Russia continues it’s rhetoric, and there is little chance that Iran’s leadership will fall into line on the nuclear arms front.
