Ed Morrissey reminds us that whatever their flaws, and whatever policies of theirs may be bad, the President of the United States and the Democratic majority are not the next coming of utter evil:
If that wasn’t bad enough, [Floyd] Brown [at WCPAC] then drew parallels between Obama and Adolf Hitler and the Nazi seizure of power in the 1930s. I have no love of Barack Obama as President, but one would have to have never studied the Nazis in order to claim that the Democratic majority is following in their footsteps. They have a radical agenda that is a disaster for America in both the short and long terms. There are plenty of grounds to argue for their defeat in the next election, and fortunately for us, the Democrats are making most of them for us, which is why they’re crashing in the polls. However, the Democrats are not rounding up opposition and throwing them in camps, shooting them on the streets, or passing bills granting Obama dictatorial power. Those arguments do nothing but make a certain portion of the grassroots look ill-educated and hysterical.
By the way, liberals would also do well to abide by these same lessons the next time we have a Republican president.

I think the rights reaction to Obama is a counter attack against what they perceived as the same sort of treatment Bush got.
While Bush was not a genius or Nobel Peace prize winner……he was certainly not Hitler and yet he was called that….I read a bazillion times where Bush was going to declare marshal law and put himself in charge as dictator.
Ya reap what you sew in this business and the democrats and Obama are now reaping what they sewed and many of the people that are saying calm down NOW are the same people who were screaming fascist, nazi pig a year ago.

I imagine if 9/11 did not happen, you would have seen a much different #43 than he was. I fully believe he would have done what he said and not pursued a path of nation building – not to mention two wars. I think the events in office is what changed the man – (course the way he acted since has been the fuel to the partisan fire).
With #44 though – there has not been any events in office other than sheer reality.
